here's another choice for gigantic screens , its the Eagle screen , but I still think the air vent + flip up design of the Skidmarx super flipper does the job of channeling winds better

Tried liao, no jitter ley....

Manage to to soften the seat with the Bike Tools (must add teh extension bar for leverage) by 2 clicks... Now very comfortable.

Also went to Yishun YS-1, there got a Shoe shop that sell all kinds of shoes, including riding boots...

So I ask him to make; and make the sole thicker somemore...

Now ride Divvy really comfort liao...not too high..

Palary, did you face any jittering problem of your handle bar from 120km/h and onwards?

After riding the divvy for some time , I tot I would give some comments...

the divvy is great , super low maintenance and reliable. Its strength is in its ancient design which is clear of all the modern technology clatter , juz plain old carburettor and a 4 in-line with 2 valve each. It still uses cable clutch which feels much lighter to pull than hydraulic wans. Great problem free tourer because:

1) Carbs fuel dry liao repump still can go , (EFI cannot)

2) Shaft drive which means I dunnoe wat is a chain/sprocket from now on

3) Air-cooled engine means I dunnoe wat is a coolant from now on haha

4) Good fuel economy

5) Great padded seat, good posture.

6) Great wind protection, best if you get the skidmarx super flip.

The bad points is that you can't xian char bo with this bike cos of its dated looks and the lack of top speed for some pple (not for me though). It basically pulls in any gear (basically I juz stick it early in top gear and juz leave it there, good for lazy asses like me hehe).

Oh by the way hor if you got this mnths BIKE mag , it shows on page 68 a divvy900 doing a near vertical wheelie haha. A full page phot of a Divvi 900 being wheelied by Kev Smith (page 68) with the caption ' Next time anyone tells you Diversions are crap, show them this. As close to vertical as you'll ever see...'

All in all , the bike's gonna stay with me until it can't function as a bike anymore hehe.

BohLiao, I saw u riding pass Bugis Junction sometime last week, I didnt call u, cos u were ready to move off at traffic light. I wasnt riding at the time, but man ur divvy looks like a ultralight version of ST1100. Must be the tall screen n lower cowlings, a cool bike. Might I suggest u also make those stickers "BohLiao" on ur lower cowlings lah, just like stormrider's Shaji's divvy, than tat wld really make ur bike ur companion until it cannot ride anymore :cheer:

Thot the divvy owners here r gona form a divvy club, wu boh?

my consumption is 18-19 km/L when travelling 90-100 km/hr . Some owners claim that theirs can go up to 450km on the divvy's 24L tank. Personally I've gone up to 410 and its not empty yet. I guess when I change to K&N filter , the consumption will be better as I've checked my plugs and the factory jetting for my carbs is silghtly too rich, so I need the K&N to lean it out haha.

Hey guys, I've got a question here. The speedometer is in mph or kmh? Heard you all saying that it is in mph but when I check out Yamaha Motor Australia, it is in kmh. Check out the picture below. Or does the new one comes with kmh reading? Anyone can verify this?

those in singapore would be in km/hr or both at least as that shd be one of the requirement for imported vehicles to pass LTA checks.

Mine is XJ900S i think, the other bigger digits are MPH and the smaller inner circle digits are KMH. But than the mileage and trip meter are in MPH, so if u chg engine oil every 10,000km, better chg it when it hits every 6,250 miles, cos tat wld be equivalent to 10,000km for the mileage or safer.

Insurance check, my bike was insured under China Ins last year, this year due for renewal. NTUC quoted me S$612 2nd Party(Fire+Theft+3rd Party) w/o 5-20%NCB yet cos they need to chk with China Ins on my qualified NCB.

So can let me know how much u guys pay for ur bike's insurance?

Got a question to ask all the divvie owners here. What is the capacity of the side panniers that come with the bike when it is bought from Hong Leong? I heard it can't fit helmets at all. Checked the yamaha website, there is a 34l and a 46l side pannier. I expect the 46l to be able to fit helmets in. So I suspect sgp could be getting the 34l one. Can someone verify?

Heh heh, didn't realised that the Divvy forum is still alive; so long time never check.

Baracuda, the Divvy here came with the 34L ones. So u can't really fit any helmets, not even the open face ones. Maybe those tortoise shell types can.

But with the 45L , I think it is really clumsy in Singapore road, esp. when u one to squeeze between traffic.

So I suggest u get a Topbox, So far my Topbox GIVI E460 can only put in 1 Symax Fullface or 2 Open face.

If U want 2 full-face, probably the GIVI MAXIA can do it.

Thanks for the input, i wonder if Hong Leong can bring in the 45L panniers. Personally, I just don't like the idea of a topbox. I dun mind the side panniers being big. Squeezing is possible I believe coz I've seen BMWs and tourers squeeze thru traffic better than those honda cubs. Guess its the experience of the riders.

Think my Headlamp is shining too high,

but hunt high and low, can't figure out where to adjust,

Any idea?

There is a adjusting nob at the right side of your headlamp. You have to be on your divv to adjust it. cw adjust higher, ccw adjust lower. Note have your divv on main stand and turn your handle bar to left side for more access. Swee!!!

You become successful the moment you start moving toward a worthwhile goal.
