Can we buy and DIY?

Quite busy lately, helping up at my uncle's funeral wake. If U guys had followed the news, he was the VSC that was killed by a truck at a Police rd block.

mctan, I think better not, for Euro $136, cheaper to get it done at SIM LIM Towers.

There's one guy doing for AT & GS, maybe can do for Divvy, I think he needs a better for measurement. Try Donald 91080247. I heard that it's not so good during the day, as it was quite dim, but nite it's :thumb:

Vtec666, No, the whole wedsite is in French only.

Currently, I using an extra LED brake lite, meant for car. It's $25, only bad thing is that it attracts ROV, got several warnings already, coz when U applied brake, the extra lite is in BLUE colour. :hungry:

So sorry and sad to hear that.

This kind of dangerous truck driver should put into jail and ban him for driving.

Hi vtec666 if you are interested and can't understand what the french is saying, you may go to this website. Copy the whole sentense and paste it, then translate to english. Hope it helps.

Define Danger

More time on road = More Danger

Less time on road = Less Danger

Slower Speed = More Time On Road

Faster Speed = Less Time on Road

Thus

Less Time on Road = Less Danger = Faster Speed~~

Hi BAckOff,

Sorry to hear about your uncle. my condolence -this kind of sad stories we don't want to hear.! but fate have it's way...we cannot help it.

Nowadays lorry drivers are very bold driving in center lane and even in 1st lane....blocking most of the other motorist you can't overtake them worried they might suddenly change lane must wait for those idiots to change lane before making any attempt...

I think Rov and Tp went into hibernating...!

Anyone using the Metz Z6 notices the tire squeaks quite loudly when making a turn in an indoor carpark? It must be due to its sticky nature. I dont have any experience like that with the Z4 nor the 020... But I like the squeaking sound... makes me feel like a car..... hahahaa

Hi Sifus... has anyone ever done any engine overhaul to their divvy yet?? For a '92 600, is it wise to spend $1k++ to do overhaul... Would like to hear some experienced opinions

Hi yob_rekib,

Overhaul not really that EX - it's only, the adjustment of the tappets, valve (timing)and + gaskets, oil channge thats all~ it should be around $300++(Nasir did)

What did the mechanic's suggested to you...... to change or replace...What? check with few recommended workshops and at the same time check with HL hongleong to get or quote the overall pricing...from there.... it is easier to know the pricing!

I ever get quoted for my former st11 to overhaul replacing of water hoses, flushing radiators, gaskets, water pump bearings, timing all in (max) $750/-

And for your 600cc they asking $1k++ sooo much!!! :giddy: :faint:

hi Yappiez,

Tyre squeaking check the tyre pressure it should not squeak like the car...and tyre only squeak unless MSc/p is wet...?

Try to pump your tyre air pressure inbetween solo and with pillion(load) recommended PSI...

If you have just slap in a pair of tyresFYI manufacturers applys' a thin coat of light lacquer to prevent the tyre from being dehydrate maybe this lacquer is the culprit which making all the noise...

You not suppose to play corner or ride your bike fast, until you run-in the tyre for about 100km ((for best road grip "recommended by workshops" wear out the coating 1st))...

I think oxygen using Metz Z6...

SilverGhost,

Maybe he is referring to a full overhaul, that's why $1K++. You are merely referring to a top overhaul (Nasir did one). I personally know of someone who did a complete overhaul (full rebuilt) for about $3.5K. Even with the high price tag, the results was worth it.

Yob_Rekib,

Is the $1K a complete, partial or top overhaul? Providing more details would be more helpful when one needs advice.

Speaking of all these, has anyone replaced their clutch plates? How to know that its time to replace it other than opening up the right engine cover to measure the plate thickness/spring tension.

Posted

Hi Sifus, i was actually quoted (by workshop in tampines) about $800+ for top overhaul... so i was just using $1k as my rough estimate. Currently, i think my bike has some probs with: Clutch housing; sound difference heard when clutch is pulled/let go during idle. Also, there's this tick²²² sound, was told by mech that its some auto tensioner or timing chain issue(s). BTW, any good place to do overhaul   So now, thinking of either doing overhaul or getting a 2nd hand CB750... :giddy:
