Actually i used SPC 4T Ace which cost $21. fully synthetic oil. Its much stronger than RED, CHEX and also Mobil. When i rode ur phantom, i use the said SPC oil and normal plugs....good and powerful enough.

Some spc petrol kiosk got workshop which can do bikes. The name of the oil i used is the said above, bottle is gold in colour. Dun buy the cheaper silver bottle k bro. Btw u might wanna check out Maxima if u want power. Honestly Maxima is way better than these 4 oils. Just use normal plugs k, dun waste money on those iridium plugs....phantom engine might not be able to fully utilise it. The money saved from buying an iridium plugs can get u a brand new air filter, cost $10 from Ah Boy....diy. If u want, u go buy the filter and i can help u show how to diy....

Actually fully syn can last way longer than semi syn. I know of some ppl stretching to 10 000km. Personally for me, the longest i'll use the fully is 5k. Dats cost TA200 does uses up engine oil.

I want to see the world and i'm pretty sure the world wants to show a little something to me.

More money use maxima, for just normal means usage, 4T Ace is enuff. I did use iridium plugs b4 but generally felt that its a waste of money. Normal plugs will do the job. Buy 1 spare plug and keep in box for those " in case's". Air filter i see dirty then i change, im not sure at which mileage do u have to change though. Buy from ah boy and diy coz Ah Koon quoted me $20 for air filter....just imagine. And to think that i saw him buy his stuffs from Ah Boy b4..lol.

Basic maintenance is all that plus chain tension....if u pillion a lot, doesnt hurt to check. Keep an eye on ur brake fluid levels also bro, and ur brake pads. Fyi, ur brake pads still got long life.

And also....dun forget to top up petrol....heh heh.

I want to see the world and i'm pretty sure the world wants to show a little something to me.

changing sparkplug is easy, done it myself b4. The tools is on the bike, i didnt take it from u......can show u how its done when we meet. The 4T ace is ard 22 yah bro.

Btw do learn to change reserve on the fly. If on middle lane, once u got he jerking feeling, signal left, change lane and reach down to turn to reserve.

looks like u have not handle hand tools before.....just remove any covers that is in the way....pull out plug cap, use tool to remove plug (anti clockwise to unscrew when view from the top of your plug..and clockwise to tighten--unless this is a left hand screw )

take note do not unscrew plug when the engine is hot...there is a high chance of damaging the screw threads and resulting in eo leakages through the plug. when reinstalling..always do not use force to engage screw threads.start with hand tightening then followed by a quarter turn of the tightening tool. note over tightening can cause problems lile thread damage.

have fun....

Never argue with an idiot. They'll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience every time:dot:

nope I'm using chessa... I wanna test out some other chemicals, hence I kept the EO same for this change...

chessa is the cheapest fully syn at $16... probably cheaper if you do other service together...

anyway, the mobil fully syn 10w40 is $21...

perhaps at the shop it is. but just fully based on what the label says, i can find fully syn eo for bikes at $7.90

  • 3 weeks later...

Ok... test results of maxima extra 15w50 is out...

I have used it for 700km, then changed it off

sound: rougher/rawer than chex 9000

topspeed: slightly higher (1-2km/h)

gear changing: ok

value: chex > maxima extra

but there was a major problem... using the maxima caused my bike to die off when the bike hasn't warmed up yet... this does not happen with the chex... but the problem may lie with some other parts... so I shall observe my current EO... which is motul 300v 15w50

only rode in that new EO for about 30+ km today... damn smooth... the engine starts to roar (reach powerband) from 100km/h instead of the usual 110km/h... :lovestruck: hope this EO stays this good...

btw, f.y.i some eo will be smooth after a certain mileage.Eg. from a review, super 4 on the maxima after 1k is performs better than the motul.

Wah seriously? thats one expensive mineral oil. Im now on the $10 nasa from ah chong. Feels alright to me. Better than the fuchs definitely.

Saw the $6 15w50 and 15w40 $9 castrol eo from lab. So cheap.

However, Need to finish my putoline 15w50 first.
