Hydher, try to save $50. As u know TA200 uses only 1 litre of oil, so use Motul 300V thickness 5w.....if unsure, use 10w or 15w but i highly recommend 5w, and changed to iridium plugs. If and once u do that, pls share with us how responsive ur bike is....lol

today I changed my EO from chex to maxima ultra 5w50... yay no more vibration at high speeds... the bike felt a little (might be an understatement) more energetic... would be giving the EO the routine test tml... :cheeky:

2day back go Asp change EO.. the Mech say in my engine will eat Engine Oil. I must Put 1&half bottle EO. is it true guys ??

 

the max amount of EO the engine can take is 1.2 litres... 1.5 litres is way too much... I would rather fill it up to 1 - 1.2 litres and top up every now and then... and topping up is a 30 sec thing :smile:

I'd second the top up. Better than just putting in 1.5L.

 

btw vidak, hows the castrol thingy? cheap cheap one? pick up?

the Cheap putoline from lab is too basic. Really wont be settling for this. Kinda itchy to change early. The nasa from chong was good.

it differs between bikes ma. Mine 2 months also no need to top up. you check the dipstick. as long as its between the xxx. wipe first, Check when bike is straight without screwing in.

the castrol power 1...? it was a nightmare... :sian: especially when I changed from motul 300v into that...

 

ultimately... the pickup between the different brands of oil isn't so much of a difference... its merely opening throttle... but the level of vibration from the engine varies greatly depending on what kind of oil you use...

just check your dipstick every 500km you should be fine :smile:

ferro particles and debri count?? too..

..this subject is complex..i will leave it to the experts..

 

yeah would like to hear from "the Vidak oil test and analysis reports"--- keep it coming...

Hi all, 1 noob question to ask all. What type of oil(Semi or full) would you recommend to top up after the 1st 500km(after full overhaul) running in for a 7 plus years old bike?

i would use mineral and change at the next 500km into semi/full synthectic..this is to ensure that the engine is fully run in...
