[Technical] Engine Oil - All related matters in EO

Recommended Posts

Posted
I wonder will the engine suffer if you use a lousy EO and ignored the vibration to ride at 110km?

I alternate between a high quality EO and a lower quality EO most of the time... the difference in vibration levels can be quite significant...

ask for me... I can ignore the vibrations, but of course I try to go long trips with the engine running on better EO... (when I went with the knights to port dickson, I was on lower quality EO... my hands and butt jellified... and... a topspeed that is kind of nerfed...)

you are talking about GEAR OIL or 2T? ;/

2T you can pour as much as your 2T Tank holds.

Gear Oil for your bike RX-Z I think its best you look for them.

Rxz is a common bike so i think almost all bikeshops can do them. When u go for ur servicing, ask them how much Eo is needed and also how much 2T. With regards to 2T, i think it always helps to have some spare at home. Do ask ur mechanics, these are basic infos u need to get to know ur bike better and know what to do in case something goes wrong.

I want to see the world and i'm pretty sure the world wants to show a little something to me.

there are 2 types of oil to use..

u seem to be confused..

2T..this one is used together with petrol. either pump into carb via a 2T PUMP. there should be 2T tank somewhere..some older bikes without 2T pump need to add to petrol directly when filling up petrol.at a ratio of 1: 75..this method is called pre-mix.

4T..this is engine oil (EO)...this is added to the engine

crankcase .

most sight glass has max and min markers..3/4 if there are no markers is just right..take note again check mark when engine is off,,and bike is upright.

for 2 strokers..use 4T or gear oil...for EO.please take note do not use car eo..thus bike is 4T oil. Gear oil is expensive..most will use 4T.

Never argue with an idiot. They'll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience every time:dot:

so if i get the Mobil 1 Racing 4T 10W-40 can use for engine oil replacement ? yes. i am very confused. HAH.. but then using 2 stroke engine .

So if i got 4 stroke engine .. what should i use for EO this time ?

yeah...mobil 4T ...yeah thats a good

there is also mobil 2 T..i think..

both comes in normal or synhectic..take your pick

i read from site .. and ask some frds. 4T meaning is EO rite ? 2T is adding to fuel . yet . i bought another mobil extra 2T semi synthetic. i read from label is mean for 2strokes. while the oil is green in color . i asked frds. he said EO is usually golden colour.. 2T oils is green and etc.

let me summarise. 2T or 4T can be use on both 2 or 4 stroke ? only diff between this 2T and 4T is the usage on fuel addition and 4T for engine crankcase . correct?

Applications

Mobil Super 4T 10W-40, 15W-40, 15W-50, 20W-50 are recommended for lubrication of all four-stroke motorcycle engines where an API SG and JASO MA level performance is recommended.

http://www.mobil.com/Singapore-English/Lubes/PDS/GLXXENPVLMOMobil_Super_4T.asp

Applications

Mobil 1 Racing 2T is recommended for lubrication of two-stroke engines used in the highest performance motorcycles, snowmobiles and lean oil/fuel ratio chain saws. It is ideal for applications where API TC or JASO FC performance standards are recommended. The product provides outstanding performance even in the harshest operating conditions.

Nononono... a 2T oil must never never put in a 4 stroke bike.

EO..it comes with all sorts of colour..there is a purple,red...etc..so dont use colour to identify it..

just remember 4T is EO for bike...use on 2 or 4 storkes engine.

2T is for 2 strokers to be added to petrol..(this is not EO..).

u can use gear oil which is used in 2 stroke engines only as a EO. This option for the perfectionist...but it is costly so not popular choice.:cheeky: This gear oil cannot use on 4 strokes engines.

why 2T and 4T???..this is not to confuse with car EO..

vidak.. why never use semi syn?

I want my engine to be completely free from mineral deposits... deposits = grinding against my cylinder wall = wear and tear. hence I always use fully synthetic oil to prolong its lifespan

You never know these deposits could be beneficial for engine > 5 years due to wider gap between piston and cylinder ........

sometime fully synthetic oil (too thin) may not good for engine due to exposed wear and tear...

ok see ar...

TA150 is a 2 stroke. which requires 2T.

there's a compartment/tank for 2T EO...

and 2 stroke bike also have to put 4T... but dun have to change that often...

:)

TA200 is 4 stroke, no need 2T.

hence the frequency of change for 4T is like 3k~5k...

its because ta200 4t is circulated throughout the bike and not only the gears. Typical of jap bikes. Unlike 2t bikes.
