WD40 as a chain lube is a no no.. but u can use WD40 to clean ur chain.. wipe dry immediately and spray on a layer of chain lube or chain wax.. :)

the chemical in WD40 will makan the rubber thingy in ur O-ring or X-ring if u never wipe it off after using....

servicing for 4 stroke bikes depend on wad u wan.. some did valve clearance.. wash carburator and do setting.. or change oil filter, air filter, etc..

hi guys me and my friends had some dispute..

er can wd40 b used as a chain lube???

second thing is i am going for my first servicing soon.. first time ride 4 stroke bike.. other than engine oil and spark plug any other thing i need to look out for???

~~~Spray WD40 on th chain only if u wanna slowly sabo a bike u see parking in the parking lot. Dun spray on your own bike's chain.
Well, 14500rpm@5th gear almost euqal to 13000rpm@6th gear and if the power drop after peak make it hard to push forward then that's the end of story. We'll need Dyno to see how the power map is like but however i think can reach 14500rpm@5th gear it's good enough though.
I guess on the Model R, they maybe reduce the air intake alongside with the little jet niddle to limit the power but keep good A/F ratio for proper burning. Maybe the Fire timing in the CDI also bit different as you said but i guess not very big difference there, don't know if programable CDI can be applied to CBR400RR since i've saw these kind of things goes well to S4 vtec.
Again it's hard to tell how much regain the air and jetting is "enough", can try from different combination of intake(High through rate filter/no filter), jetting, exhaust pipe header size(stock/end can/full kit) and check A/F ratio, spark to see how much the cylinder can take then finetune it.....sounds very tiring job to do hahahaha. I'll be happy if a High through rate air filter and full kit pipe enough to give better upper range power and extension. I do know header also affect a lot......But pipe seems a problem in SG, will they check the header during inspection when you have a legal end can?
Come to PG performance, it is very important to accumulate top speed that how fast you pass Turn1, how soon you can open the throttle into 2nd straight and how late you let go the throttle in to Turn 2. Cos i think based on our horsepower(50~60whp), speed increase will be slow after 170~180kph. My personal exprience is that you can easily get 15kph difference at same bike by different riding pattern through Turn1 - 2nd straight. So drop 1 or 2 i think it's case by case thing hehehe, but still few fast CBR400RR rider there although i dun know how their bike's mod but for sure their bike reach at least 190kph at back straight.....Maybe we can do some research on PG next time? Although i only have RS250 now :p
Cheers,
Haha i'm done trying to alter the stuff on my blade though.. usually inspection check pipe only bah.. i'm using hurricane header though.
Usually will hit 170+ to 180km/h before slowing down abit at turn 2 lol..coz the speed increase on 5th gear is pretty slow.. Anyway do note that if u change ur sprocket from the stock size i think it will affect the accuracy of the meter as the speedo cable is connected to a compartment attached to the front sprocket assembly area.. i believe its used to measure speed. So if the ratios are altered think the speedo will go haywire lol
Anyway going PG this coming friday (2nd Oct) and next friday (9th Oct) if anyone wanna join me lol
and i thought you like to 'blow' other similar bikes on road...lol
talk c**k ...:):):)
As i'm not too familiar with the route,
i need a guide.
Could go for a 'look see' as well for those whom are curious.
~~~says who. Yesterday after sending my gf home and while heading home from Panjang to Batok. Saw either a rvF or cBr infront of me that is really loud & fast turning into Chua Chu Kang... Since i wanna test his pipe, i proceed to divert my route and gave chase and ended up racing with him at the small road aroundChua Chu Kang with all the corners. But then, my cornering never as good as BlackDragon definately and most of my cornering judgment are realli out of tune till i've to adjust alot while in the midst of doing it instead of taking those smoothly around 120km/h at those small roads.

Hmm....i didn't know that the CBR400RR's speedo sensor attached to front spoket, up 1 teeth on the rear your speedo speed will increase by around 40/39=102.56%. However if you upgradr rear tire from 150 to 160 (which i plan to do as my RS250 using 160 rear tire and those retired track tired can be used on road) will give you 1.96% back, in sum that's only 0.6% difference on the meter we're talking about haha.

I have never ride along with a CBR400RR so i am not quite sure about how the top speed extension there, but i have to work during the weekdays lah....can not make it lah :( And my RS250 just rebuilt one cylinder and up 3 teeth at the rear (!!!), still buying the time this week hope can done the setting and bring it back to the track:cheers: 2T is very sensitive to these jetting things....sigh

Hope sometime we can meet each other at some trackday and enjoy it! Also hope my cash flow back to normal soon then i can get my CBR ASAP! :angel:

Lol if u up ur rear 1 teeth and u increase ur tyre size to 160 i think u can barely feel any difference ah.. if u wanna get more pickup while increasing ur tyre size then u'll probably need more teeth to off set the increased circumference ur tyres is getting.

I dun go track days one ah.. probably track hog all the 600s there in corners and straights lol.. 400cc also headache, straight not faster than them corner also abt same or slower.. at least 250 can afford later brake ins and higher cornering speed.

If u increase your rear tyres to 160 , the bike feels abit more sluggish when turning . Not as nimble as the 150 .. You can ride on weekdays PG to avoid the crowds , but then you will get bored when u are stuck at a certain stage and u need someone to chase to improve your pace ... Yes a 400cc lose out on the straight , but i seen good 400cc riders poking CL2 bikes after turn 2 .

I used to ride a Rs250 during my youngers day .. The advantage of the 250 is thats its very light n the accerlation to its top speed its way much faster then a 400cc .. You can bang to your max lean angle way much faster n thus carried more corner speed... But the wear n tear also much more faster keke :cheeky:
