no choice but to accept the fact. but a good condition R model can perform as the same as a L model.

juz that the spec and the existing power cut in R model make pple feel that L- model is better, more powerful.. if u really want a "L-model", u can get the parts from L-model and put on yr bike.. header, muffler, jetting, meter power cut.. etc

the onli thing that R-model spec is better than L-model spec is the pre-load adjustment in the fork.. other than that, i dun see any better spec in R-model.

the main jetting size for R is 105 while L is 108..

one of the main power cut is at the meter when u hitting 190km/h mark..

u juz hav to short 2 wire together..

u can try go to bike shop to hav it done..

Seriously the R model is a better bike. It was the final revision of the CBR400 to be released and had some nice upgrades to the suspension (cartridge damping forks with rebound & preload adjust, rear shock with rebound and preload and on some bikes compression adjust). Also several of these later model bikes received upgraded and stronger internal engine components as well.

If you want to unlock a little extra power just go get a street legal aftermarket exhaust and it will be great.

I don't really understand everyones obsession with swapping stock headers from different models, hurricane headers are restricted internally with baffling as are the stock headers of every other model.

If you want another cheap boost in power go to an exhaust place, get the stock collector cut out and a new replica section welded in which uses straight through pipe.

Only other restriction is the speed cut which can be cured with 2 wires shorted as noted.

R model is definately a better buy, good bike :)

is true that the stock pipe hav baffling..

however the diameter of L model or even hurriance is greater than R model..

therefore better mid and end range..

I will make no noticable difference. What will make a difference that you can see is changing to unrestricted free flow headers (aftermarket) and a race end can, high flow air filter and then have it rejetted and tuned to suit.

THEN you will feel a noticable difference. Just changing to slightly larger diameter but still restrictively baffled stock pipes is a waste of time and money.

Hey Guys....

I got some questions regarding my bike...

Everytime when i start my bike, the idling stays at 1rpm. That should be normal i guess. But after my journey, when i reach smaller roads wif traffic lights, and when i stop at traffic junctions, i will put it to neutral gear or maybe cluthing in on gear 1, and my rpm will be at 2. Issit normal? Den when i put to half clutch and the bike moves a lilttle, i straightaway change to gear 2, and the bike will move at 20km/hr wifout even me having to turn the trottle... How come like that ah?

Than 1 more thing is, usually my temp will stay in the middle when i'm riding on the highway... Than when everytime i reach smaller roads, and stop at traffic junctions, the temp needle will go up almost reaching "H"... Issit my coolent prob or issit normal?

Thx for any info and advises...

ya.. u are rite..

the diff isn't that much..

but getting a L model or hurrriance and clear the restrictor is cheaper compare to buy a aftermkt header.. especially the :deal: by rov/tp..

i noe there is a shop hav a yoshi header.. but i oso dun dare to put that time..

Wat u mean by its time for my carborator to be check? Wat might have happen to it?

And the usual speed i travel on the highway is usually 90km/h - 120km/h....

Only in at smaller roads i travel like 60km/h - 90km/h...

Issit ok to travel at such speed on small roads? Or should i travel faster?

LoL i scared got hidden cams or TP mah.... Just got my bike leh, dun wanna minus any points or gantung my license leh... Also no money to pay fines liao... haha...

Yeh sure as long as you mod the slightly larger header to remove the internal baffles as well then it will make a difference over just a stock system you are right.

Yah picked up my Yoshi this afternoon. Will give it a polish this week and then probably put on next weekend, then have to my brake pads, adjust the rack, adjust the chain, replace the fan switch and then give it all a damn good clean!

Still waiting on some little brackets to fit my radiator a bit better as well but they won't be here by the weekend.
