try first disconnect it, scrape the connectors clean and spray a little WD40 on and then reconnect nice and firmly, should make it work fine again.

I am using a CBR600F3 suspension. I don't know if the F4i suspension will fit. Also, I have not tried the bike with the new suspension yet because I am still in the US now. Two more weeks and I'll be back.

You may not have to rebuild the suspension, depending on the spring rate. For example, I got lucky because the spring rate of the stock F3 suspension spring is the correct rate for me. However, that means that for most people, the spring will be too soft because I am extremely lightweight.

But one thing for sure is that the F3 suspension will be longer than the stock by 20mm and will raise your rear ride height. This will load the front more and may make the bike less stable during heavy braking or hard acceleration. If it becomes a problem, you will need a steering damper.

I am also using a Hurricane header. The improvement is minimal. However I don't quite know how to de-restrict the header. I heard you need to cut out the collector part, remove all the baffles inside, and reweld it back on. I may try that after I pass my bike inspection with the new GPR exhaust. Also, you need to re-jet the carbs. 108-110 is the normal range.

Tick tick sound is normal if it's very soft. Even after replacing the head gasket and doing valve clearance, my bike still had that sound.

Hope that helped.

i had done tat header de-restriction on my L model header, and as what u mentioned is correct, they will cut open the header and remove all the baffles inside, total 3 pieces (2 in the two-to-one portion and 1 at the end part near the end-can connection area), and its advisable to coat the header with at least 2 coats of high temp paint after the "operation" as it will rust easily on the welding area. Mine had 110 jetting changed. But there is chance of failing the next inspection because of the high CO emission from the exhaust due to the removal of the header baffles and worst still if u got a straight through endcan.. :goodluck:

I am wondering how removing the baffle could fail the hydrocarbon emission test because the exhaust system doesn't have a catalytic converter in the first place. I am more worried about failing the noise emission test. My GPR exhaust has removable baffle which I will put back on for inspection. Maybe I should keep a stock header just in case.

From your avatar picture, I suppose you have the HRC CDI for your NC29. Do you know where I can get my hands on one? So far they are ridiculously expensive new (from UK) or hard to get (from Japan).

Aiya, you bought it already? How much did you pay, and where did you buy from?

Vibration is normal at certain speeds. However I suggest you bring the bike for a checkup. Personally I go to K&T at Ubi.

I bought it at $4.8K, abit high? monthly installment still comfortable for me, better than my phantom. fuel consumption 1L = 20km. K&T ubi izzit cheap for repairs or servicing? Normally how much it cost per servicing for CBRRR?

F4i is shock is longer than the F4 and longer again than the F3. While you can bolt it into a fireblade as it uses the same mounts as the earlier model shocks it is way to long and upsets the handling.

The F4i shock (and F4, F3) will not go into a Hurricane, the Hurricane uses a different lower shock mount to the Fireblade model. You can buy a customised lower linkage to fit later model CBR600 shocks or you can find something else that fits.

either is the balancer or inside the handlebar got a round metal thing that acts as a weight is gone.

$4.8K machine price is a bit high. If that includes first year insurance then still acceptable.

Cost per servicing depends on how many things get replaced and how in-depth you want to go. Anything from $100+ (oil change and simple checks) to $2000+ (major upgrades and parts replacement). I fall into the latter category because I want to get the most out of my CBR400RR and I am proud to do it.

Haha I fall slightly above your latter category but then I have done a lot of things with my bike that are not really necessary but which I wanted done. Given a starting price of 1.5k I always planned to spend some money doing up and I still have very low investment.

Posted

My starting price was $4350. First big invoice was $1600 which included replacement of many things including tyres. Second big invoice is coming and expected to be around that amount since it includes new paintjob, rebuilt radiator, rebuilt suspensions and new exhaust.
