Hi I encounter a problem with the headlights today...cant seems to on it...that was ever since i installed the h4 lightbulbs and an additional on/off switch . Now the main switch(the left hand side high/low beam) dun seem to be working...can anyone help?

 

Was qoute by bike shop that whole (left)switch cost $70+ , issit alright or any other ways to solve the prob...thank you...

Tot i already told u dun touch the high low beam switch when u are viewing my bike?

Change a new one lo...I change 2 times b4, once at 85, once at 95.

 

How many watt is the H4 bulbs?

Is it 60/55?

If its more than that, most slightly the headlight high beam switch inside melted already bcos if u open old switch and see the high/low beam switch, its very thin wire inside, cannot tahan high current.

 

For me I would advice u dont change the switch, instead mod the headlight connection such that when normal beam, one filament in each bulb lights up, when high beam both filament in both bulbs brights up. I am using this configuration now. Normal is when low beam is one filament, high beam is another filament.

12v 60/55w.........haha went in kulai that time...on high beam all the way man...........

 

Can i replace the wire in the orignal switch instead? or maybe juz change the connection to the external switch while ignoring the orignal high beam/low beam switch?

siao siao one leh....monday got high beam but tuesday dun hv lights at all.....juz now call up the bike workshop to order a new piece of left side switch....then travel there to change but when the uncle test test the light came bk itself....*blurs man*....in the end still change juz it in case problem comes bk again lor..hehe ask the uncle to check old one ,he say still workable condition,so keep it for spare lor... :cheeky:

 

New left headlight switch ($75) + on/off switch ($8)

 

total $83 include installation...

U can join a live wire from else where to your low beam wire becos the problem now is low beam there is no connection. For high beam the connection will still be there as normal. When u connect live wire to your low beam, u can add a switch in between and on/off low beam as usual, but when u high beam, the low beam will still be on.

 

Scenerio 1: high beam switch out, passed light not pressed, extra switch off -> all lights off.

 

Scenerio 2: high beam switch out, passed light not pressed, extra switch on -> low beam on. (normal street riding 2 filaments on only, 1 from each bulb)

 

Scenerio 3: high beam switch out, passed light pressed, extra switch on -> low beam on + high beam flashing (2 filaments and 4 filaments alternately, 1 and 2 filament from each buls alternately).

 

Scenerio 4: high beam switch in, passed light not pressed, extra switch on -> low beam + high beam always on(all 4 filaments always on)

i got stop at the road block in mandi road when going back to camp.

the tp guys say my expipe look so big said its mod one can charge me for that. also said that got tong one. last sentence they said to me was that they wont catch me doesn't meant other tps wont catch me too. I was wearing army uniform lol and a 2 LT was my pillon. lol
