I got quote from NTUC insurance today.

Bike: X1-R (135cc)

Age: 33 this year

10 years driving and riding experience.

 

About 310 for TPFT.

hi, my insurance expiring in less than 2 wks... i realised i can't pay my rd tax without renewing my bike insurance...

sian.. i had an accident before last yr.. so should i stick with my previous msig or switch a new one? my bike only 1 yr old... like me.. hahaha...

any advice ppl?

U switch also no discount... Somemore recently I get insurance quotes. MSIG cheapest.

I am an In'l student in Malaysia. I still dunno, Y d F*** did I buy a S'pore bike?

It was on 2010 april 23rd, I got my '03 r1 4m a Malay private seller for about 25k

But he refused 2 give me d insurance papers.I clearly remember, insurance was valid till AUG 2010. finally my worst night mare became true,On june 12th 2010( when worldcup football kicked off) sme ******** nicked my bike, breaching all the security 4m my apartment.Since U all knw, how foreigners are treated in Msia,especially those who can't speak bahasa Malayu, Police had blew up my case into ashes! They r damn confident tat I will neva get back my BIKE . Nw my last option was to claim insurance...

when I called d previous owner, he straight fold lied to me tat, he misplaced insurance papers! Now WHAT SHALL I DO?

Calculated my premium, it is around 25% cheaper than NTUC.

Personal experience.I have a 15 yr old bike. When i was shopping around i found that hardly anyone insures such bikes. Called ntuc and got a quote ard 400+. called DirectAsia got it at ard 300+ (low) .

 

Definitely not happy with NTUC quote and i am happy i got another insurer. I have another bike and i plan to swing it to DirectAsia once the term is up.

For those people who aren’t existing customers:

- You can obtain a quote online if you have 0 or 1 accident/claims in the last 3 years (regardless of whether you caused the accident or not).

- if you have 2 – 3 accidents/claims in the last 3 years (regardless of whether you caused the accident or not), we require prospective customers to call us in order to obtain a quote.

- if you have had more than 3 accidents in the last 3 years (regardless of whether you caused the accident or not), we will not be able to provide you with a quote.

 

For existing customers:

- we are very happy to invite renewals from customers who were involved in accident(s) that they were entirely not liable for.

- we review on a case-by-case basis where customers have multiple claims whilst insured with us.

 

I hope that clarifies the situation regarding accidents for you?

Pls explan why is there a policy of non wuote for cases of accidents whether or not it is the rider'sfault(lets say the rider isavictim). I do not understand this policy. Canyou explain in greater detail why such measures are taken?

Is it true that when taking over a bike with COE expiring in less than 12 months, the insurance still must get for one full year? The NTUC counter staff told me LTA regulations must get full year and if bike is scrapped when COE expires, they will prorate and refund the "unused" premium. True?

@ki113r. U can get online quote from both ntuc and directasia. But note tat directasia only do 3rd party. (NO fire and theft)

 

@Cyberpig. Not too sure but u can just try calling another insurance company to check. This way u dun ve to rely on e answer from only 1 company

Hi danielling1981, I'm very happy to say that since last week we now do comprehensive, third party fire and theft and third party only insurance for motorcycles.
