Train ride I'm not sure. Others will answer.

As for:

a. Doi Suthep - It is a day trip within Chiang Mai. Should include Buping Palace also. A separate day trip to Doi Inthanon/Mae Klang Waterfall would be good too.

b. Golden Triangle - might want to consider 1 night stay at Mae Sai. No need rush and can also visit Mae Salong.

c. MHS - at least 2 nights stay bah. Got lots of places to visit and the road will slow down travelling time.

thanks...........

haha. Not so bad lah.

But seriously, there is no direct train to Chiang Mai.

Even for passenger, normal train can reach Bangkok but must change either at KL or Butterworth. Unless you want to spend $3k on the Eastern & Oriental Express direct train to Bangkok...

For cargo train, the frequency would be even worst.

How much to box up the bike and send by flight to Chiangmai? Anyone know?

By train, looks like cannot liao.

I am planning to go Laos this Dec and looks like the only way is to ride up and then transport the bike back by land till JB from Chiangmai. Going in to Thailand, the owner must be present to export the bike. Coming out is no issue.
