They carry ghost too, they anounce at SBF2013. Think ghost = $549+-, HD = $349+-

I am happy with HD for vlogging but in the future might upgrade and sell of my HD.

Yea i tink drift is still the better cam for vlogging. Im still sorting out my audio setup. Dats wat is holding me back rite nw. Zzzzzz. I didnt get the HD cux got some mentions of its reliability issues. Seems like a hit-or-miss case. Ghost looks good so far. Maybe nxt tym wen a few yrs old, can get it for cheaper.

Hi guys. Complete camera and recording noob here but looking to invest in a recording device in the event of any unfortunate accidents/disputes cause recently met with a mini-accident but I'm fortunate to escape unscathed.

Just want to roughly gather market data on what are the popular types of cameras and all available, their price ranges, recommended models, and whether will they be durable enough in the event of a crash or anything. Can mount on handlebar one right?

Thanks in advance.

Here you go bro, GoPro makes you a hero. Hard case protects it from rain and shock. (Freefall from 1250ft and still working with or without case) :thumb:

Handlebar mount not a problem, the 3M adhesive will do the work. If you are afraid of dropping off during the ride, attach a string to it (I'm using a retractable lanyard and a carabiner hook). However, there are also different brands in the market, maybe you should do more research before buying =))

Like your vid description says, that rider in the 2nd part was really asking for trouble. Large vehicle means bigger turning radius and bigger blind spot. Narrow road and no escape because of divider. Lucky escape, thanks to you!

thanks for sharing! indeed a good alternative solution for those riding sportsbike. but the video coverage of the road quite small due to the IU unit and brake reservoir blocking

Review of Aurostars Supercam M2 - SUPERCAM 獵豹 M2

Product Details : http://www.aurostars.com/images/newm2_09.jpg

Product from Taiwan, one of the popular model.

Shipping : Placed order on 12-Feb-2013 received the box on 19-Feb-2013.

Very fast, during CNY holiday season.

http://i1311.photobucket.com/albums/s672/Alan_Swee/DSC_0257_zps1a4b0746.jpg

Package come with many usable mouting for bike :

http://i1311.photobucket.com/albums/s672/Alan_Swee/DSC_0271_zps84dd667e.jpg

The actual dimension :

http://i1311.photobucket.com/albums/s672/Alan_Swee/DSC_0258_zpsbb249b6c.jpg

After some evaluation, I decided to use the velco to mount on my helmet :

http://i1311.photobucket.com/albums/s672/Alan_Swee/DSC_0262_zps08575f54.jpg

How the cam, look like on helmet :

http://i1311.photobucket.com/albums/s672/Alan_Swee/DSC_0263_zps5dd41302.jpg

As compare to GOPRO HERO3 :

http://i1311.photobucket.com/albums/s672/Alan_Swee/DSC_0268_zps90caa525.jpg

You can also permanently mount on your bike, with the power cable provided to link up to your bike battery.

The camera will automatically start recording 5 sec after power on, remain recording for 10 sec after power off.

This is the best selling point of this cam, other CAM like GOPRO can't do this.

http://i1311.photobucket.com/albums/s672/Alan_Swee/DSC_0260_zps5e24dc02.jpg

Video (please view the HD1080P)

As you can see from the video, the camera will switch on the laser pointer to indicate the centre of the frame when it is switch on.

Likes :

1) Small & light

2) Weatherproof (without casing)

3) Auto cycle of the video files, every 5 mins 1 file.

4) Laser pointer to show you the center of the frame.

5) Time stamp !!!

6) Auto-start recording when connected to bike battery.

Dislikes:

1) Video quality not as good as GOPRO (for the same price for white edition)

2) Camera angle need to be wider for 1080P. Can use a wider angle 720P 60fps.

Cost :

S$347 (include shipping) order online from PCHOME, Taiwan. http://ecshweb.pchome.com.tw/global/tw/v1/supercam

Strange is after my order the product is no longer available !

Comment :

If you don't mind to dismantle your camera for every ride, you should consider a GOPRO-HERO 3 white edition.

If you are lazy and want to fix the camera on your bike, get this.
