Kason Ong is a friend of my dad.

Is so scary sometimes, u know? Just a week before the accident on fri, my friends, my gf and myself were on the way to KL and was riding at an average speed of 200km/h. Come to think of it, it can happen to anyone.

Maybe i shud consider getting a duke too..

Well let see what you can do on 600 first this weekend before you even need to consider a duc.:p

Actually it was a stationary lorry on the side of the road. A lady driver of the getz hit the lorry and spun out of control right into Kason's path. He died almost on the spot. His body at the wake was not in good shape i can say, cremated today with a convoy to escort him to the crematorium. I did not know him well but any rider on the road is a friend to everyone of us, whether big bike or small bike, tons of experience or P plater. May he rest in peace.

Ride safe all, God bless.

Rest In Peace.

No offense bro, but by looking at the sentence u typed, it sounds like u can do better than Dol. I think Dol did pretty good on the 600. Even if he didn't, he can still buy a Ducati and try it on track. Some times, its not all abt timing or speed, but the feel of a ducati superbike on the track.

Hmmm, seeing that it takes great skill to ride a ducati, think i better give up on the idea of getting one. ah well, there are other (easier to ride) bikes ... tsk tsk

The guy who wrote the above muz be a great rider .. wow.

Ahh... i see... Well... i wouldn't mind letting him try my bike on the track. There was 1 day we were at PG together,

and if i'm not wrong, he said something like, its an expensive bike, If he crashed it, dunno how to pay for it.... LOL... I agree...

But anyway, Dol, u have my support if u're getting a Ducati.

Hi guys!

I got a '98 916 Bip.

Recently i got a problem with its clutch.

My mechanic replaced the OEM clutch slave pump with the OEM.

Even after replaced the clutch slave pump, i got an even worst problem.

The symptoms are follows:

1)Bike unable to move off. Before this problem, the bike is very slow in moving off even though its in 1st gear, high RPM and clutch freeplay adjusted.

2)I am able to change gear without clutching in!

3)There's no more tension felt in the clutch lever when i clutch in.

What's the problem??

Clutch slave pump u/s even after a just changed it?

Clutch plate wear out?

Thanks!

Are you unable to disengage the clutch or does it seem like the clutch is slipping when engaged?

Disengage the clutch i am not sure.

Clutch when engaged acts like it is in neutral.

I kicked to 1st gear try to move off, totally no biting point and bike dun move off.As if it is still in neutral even i rev the engine.

But the strange thing is the bike did not stall when i release clutch in 1st gear while stationary.

I somehow dont trust other bike shops. The only person I trust is Eugene at Minerva. Whatever problems i have, he tries his best to help and gives advice and his opinion too.

Lots of pple have told me, Minerva is not the only shop that can fix ducati. Ya its true, but they have only ducati tools for fixing that other bike shope may not have. Other shops may not have the ducati manual and go by feeling to fix.

I was a technician Hyundai and Komoco Motors for 3 years. i know what its like as a mechanic. I feels its best to go back to the agent. They should know better.

Hey Cyanide, You're the 916 that rode pass me along Bishan MRT a year ago if i'm not mistaken?

looks like the clutch is not engaging. the clutch engages when the pressure plate (the fancy machined plate that is at the end of the clutch) exerts pressure on the clutch stack (the steel + friction plates) via the springs. The clutch master cylinder, when pulled, will force fluid to push the pressure plate outward to release the clutch stack. If you are unable to engage the clutch, it could be due to 3 things:

1> Clutch spring have shortened due to usage and cannot exert enough pressure on clutch stack (min 36.5mm).

2> Clutch stack worn over time and the total stack height is less the the minimum specified

3> Clucth master or slave cylinder jammed resulting is the pressure plate not returning to the actual engaged position.

You did not assemble the clutch packs correctly. Get them out rearrange them in the right order and put them back. Just before installing the clutch cover check the clutch play. If there's no movement when you actuate the cluch lever, you've got it wrong again.
