Just got wind of the official price of the Diavel Full Carbon.

It's about $48k. The normal version is about $42k

dis is NOT my idea of a launch,4 diavel came in,if the owner can't wait for their toy,they can pick up during the show,throw in dryice with some thick smoke with dramatic effect&than they can ride their bike off with big cheers from the crowd!

That's the problem with launching the bike indoor. Cannot start the engine else everyone will be poisoned with CO.

I still remember the time when the 1098 was first launched at Oosh@dempsey, much better ambience and you can hear the roar of the ducati v-twin.

Aprilia RSV4 was also

outdoor (Red Dot Brewhouse) and guests were given a free t-shirt to commemorate the event.

Diavel has been in the showroom for sometime, most people have seen them and afew are even already on the road. So we decided not to do an official launch for Diavel but to instead do a launch party. That's why there wasnt any unveiling of Diavel or speech etc. The idea was to give Diavel the required publicity and at the same time gather all Ducati owners and bikers to have a fun, wild and Devilish night.

In Singapore, not many brands have done parties like that. Since after the 1st successful launch of 1098 at Oosh, we decided to at least organise one of such event every year. 2008 at Oosh, 2009 at Zouk, 2010 at our new showroom and the recent Diavel Party at Velvet. The reason for not doing it outdoor was because uncertainty of weather and space. I have not yet found a place that allows decent parking for motorcycles with sufficient space for bike display and at reasonable pricing. Even at Oosh, those lots for Ducati parking was supposingly only meant for Ferrari and Lamborghini.

Doing more of such events, I hope to open up the market of motorcycle and at the same time, change the prespective of motorcycle being cheap transport in Singapore.

Please do give your feedback so that i can plan a better one for all of us next year.

u guys 're wrong on all counts , d only right thing i reckon is yr starting line ,,.....,guess , didn't do a good job on dis event!

everybody noes its comming on the 1st week of march,me personally witness the uncrating of the very 1st ones,on the 3rd!

if u guys is serious about a launch , hard/soft or otherwise , it should be decided way back,apparently every year got some sort of events going on,dis gotta b a diavel year!

the new Superquadrata 'll b out @ the end of the year,reaching our shore in the new year ,another launch in 2011 perhaps?

so 2 weeks to start planning something is a bit short sighted ,to me.

so its either u do it or u don't , if u 're pondering all the ppl 've seen it & the budget is not there but still decided to go half assly,dis is what u get!

there's so many things not right with the whole affairs!

why is d.o.c. task to do the invitation?i'm a d.o.c. members so i'm cordially invited but not many of my ducati mates are&they 're not aware of the whole thing?

horrendous part?how can u all get the date&day wrong,omg!

so u guys choose the type of ducati owners to be present but the irony part is u guys also invited potential ducati owner?

which is the right thing to do in a marketing sense but NOT @ the expense of current ducati owner!

the situation is getting absurd when a mate of mine got an entry pass to the door,where i dun 've ! plus some of my mate r.s.v.p reply dun even register on the attendance list,

i 've known minerva for a long time,no change from day 1 , always 've been&always 'll be a cockup , can't trust them with anything ,dun give me much joy , many of my buddy left ,all i can say is, i am into ducati not minerva !

its not a cheap hobby/passion by any means&its a lifestye now not a transport no more!

minerva got all the ducati owners data ,so ther's no excuse of not inviting them,all !

i was wondering ,why i tells u so much , u 're juzz the event ppl ,

@the end of the day ,all i can say is...............................................................................................someday u 'll understand!

FESA, I've followed this thread for a long time. Even been impressed from time to time with the work you do to regularly get people together. It's the sort of thing I'd never do because I'm too lazy.

Think you're out of line on this one. If like me, you went along, had a good night, some free food, some free drinks and the chance to park your bike safely and hang out with fellow Ducati riders then really, what's there to complain about....a lack of smoke? Only two bikes? The writer above genuinely (and bravely I thought) asked for feedback and you respond with that rubbish.

It's a small community,if there were problems with the mailing list it didn't take long for everyone to know it was on. It was on facebook very publicly and all one had to do was email Tiffany if they wanted to come. Hell, the entire community knows you just email Tiffany for any event. As for being against inviting prospects...what are you proposing, that now you are a member of this exclusive club we should now ban new entries?? We are all suddenly better than those who don't have a Ducati? I'm not...I like talking to those guys and giving them the benefit of my limited knowledge.

I've organised events in the past. There's always problems that you have to deal with which hopefully remain unknown to the people attending. Those problems are usually amplified when you're dealing with an Italian company on the back end. Singapore is the only Asian country which does these type of events regularly, we should be thankful, not critical.

I too have known Minerva a long time. No doubt they could benefit from a decent CRM system but I've never doubted the intent and integrity of the people there. Compare this event to the boring car launches too often seen in Singapore where you go along, are limited to beer and wine for two hours then have to hear some boring guy run through the technical spec for 45 minutes...and those guys I'm sure have bigger budgets than the events people at Minerva have.

Anyway...I had a good time....but I'm the type of person that prefers to focus on the positives.
