I would like to extend my apology to T28 (Terence) whom i was told is not happy with Papabread79 for not riding a Duck but stirring things in here.

Million apologies.

But i still think i am missing something in here on why Duckies are unhappy with our enforcement officers for doing something right like catching those with illegal mods. :)

Papa roti. For a start, I dont really understand why are you (STILL) picking bones on the 'DUCKIES' for complaining on our enforcement officers. But the interesting thing is that

1. You are not riding ducati

2. You are not riding ducati with termi pipes

We are not happy with them. Thats OUR business. Why do you keep coming in and kept on commenting on what we felt on the local enforcement officers? You are here to ride and chill with us? Or smirking that we have to hang the $xxxx termi pipes on the wall?

Is it that difficult to just keep quiet? Chill with us and talk about riding. Isnt it more fruitful for you to Share with us on your experience with BMW and trips to cambodia with your GS.

Really, YOU REALLY CANNOT STOP TALKING ABOUT THIS ISSUE?

You are a nice guy but you are starting to get on my nerves

When i asked minerva, they said they can get street legal slipons for the HYM. No other model.

My quest for a street legal system for the 748/916/996 series is more or less finished. Not sure if anyone is interested. But here they are:

Following dealers did not bother to call me back and tell me if they can get the street legal system after i visited them (probably cos they cant get it):

Arrow exhaust (from that place in dunlop street)

akrapovic(kaki bukit area near minerva)

Following dealers called me back to tell me they cant get:

Remus + yoshimura(motoworld)

LeoVince(gmax)

Zard(from that dodgy guy who deals in zard and quat-D recommended by one of the bros here)

Following dealers says yes, they can get:

Quat-D (from that dodgy guy who deals in zard and quat-D recommended by one of the bros here)

Price: 3.7K slipons only (wtf...and he sounded pretty rude too. Gave a kind of tone as if since he bothered to check the price, i should confirm the purchase. No wonder u guys dont like him)

GPR (Forum vendor gpr asia http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/forumdisplay.php/129-GPR-Exhaust-System)

Price: 1.8K titanium/CF, 1.6K aluminium

Well, basically for the older superbikes you only have one option: GPR. I used to have a streetlegal high mount GPR system when i rode my monster 400 way back. So i can kind of give the pros and cons already:

Pros:

1) Cheap

2) Legal

3) stealth silencer setup: the silencer is removable and when removed, it is impossible to know it has been removed(no empty screw holes on the exhaust tip which any TP will immidiately spot when he pulls you over. This is because the silencer mounts deep inside the base of the muffler, rather than on the tip. Looking at it from the outside, it looms like any unbaffled race pipe with a straight core and nothing in the way.

4) Build quality average. Welds not the best, but ok. Basically like termis. Nothing like akra welds which are magnificent.

5) sound is not bad. But its legal, so dont expect it to roar like an unbaffled termi. At least with the silencer on. Never tried it without the silencer

Cons:

1) It ain't Termi. But i could always take my own advice, and remove the GPR emblem, and put a termi sticker on. Wahahaaa. Oh damn, that means i gotta remove my mirror finish helmet visor too.lol

2) Tricky to remove silencer. They are mounted at the base of the muffler, rather than the tip. Thus removing it requires you to take down the pipes, remove, then put em back on.

3) Fitment (on my old pipes) below par. Had to fiddle a great deal with it before it sat symmetrically when viewed from the back. The fault lies with the supplied hangars, which were real pieces of crap. The bent really easily and the rubber hanger gasket wouldnt sit still, popping off just as the hangers were being tightened and adjusted

Exploded diagram of pipes, showing silencer module (3)

http://www.gpr.it/gpr/prodotti/56/istruzioni_montaggio_56_1615456291.pdf

Back when i used GPR, they were relatively unknown. Then not long after, all those blasted scooters started using them, all over the place. I think this dents its rep among other big bike riders somewhat. Which is possibly why you dont see them used much on bikes above the 2B class.

There are semi-legal options available as well if you still have your stockers and a bit of creativity. But i will not mention anything more here, as i may go with that option. If someone is really interested, you can PM me.

Hope this long post helps someone out there besides me.

Hi papabread, I heard u are a fren of our mate. No apologies needed unless the stirring was intentional.

I have no issues with enforcement officers doing their job ACROSS the board.... there are lots & lots of cars, bikes, lorries, vans that have illegal mods that need their enforcing.

Question:

my hyper796 front forks are 43mm.so does this mean that any 43mm forks from the other models are a direct fit?

Reason is simple, cos i'm looking for fully adjustable forks to replace the crappy non adjustable hyper796 forks.

You will have to take into account of triple clamps, axle diameter, brake caliper's pitch and wheels .

Ps.. Maybe a Ohlins cartridge system will do if they have it?
