You can use the same block (cylinder) and piston yes...

The head will need to be modified, as it will likely be too high compression after putting in a 60mm crank...

Do you know how old the pinasco kit is in there?? I ask because the design changed in the mid 90's when the Pinasco company changed ownership... if yours is the earlier type, it was designed to run only a 60mm crank... If its a later version then it'll work with both 57mm (stock) or 60mm (longstroke)...

Why don't you come and see my scoot (as I'm going 225 soon...) and you'll see what is needed.

Sharpey....dont think any shops here drop the engine while doing the paint job...so i guess if really wanna get that part painted....gotto DIY like you and rae07....

cos most of the paint shops in singapore are not mechanics...hence dont know how to dismatle the engine...even for those who knows...doubt they will do it...

sharpey....the 60mm crank should be interesting....

you are turning your scoots into a monster...

with the 60mm crank...porting is required to the cylinder isnt it??

you doing it?

also still seeing your 3mm alum gasket with ah wee....not done yet?

yeah... well porting can still be done without the crank... the port on the pinasco is slighly enlarged as compared to stock... no point enlarging it until I split the cases again...

No rush infact witht the shipment from Ze Germans... need to weigh up costs etc... like the huge shipping costs... am thinking about plumping for an exhaust also (to save another huge shipping cost) Scorpion of course....

The 3mm gasket was for a Superstock project Ah Wee was doing for me... I think we both kind of lost interest  .... It turns out that a 3mm lift would sacrifice low-end torque too much... apparently, a 1.5mm lift on a stock barrell gives a pretty good performance boost without killing lowdown torque....

is it? I see ..... how do you mean not good?

I was hoping he'd be able to widen the port for my pinasco setup...

the finishing wasnt that gd. the surface at the transfer port was not smooth with the rough cut marks. so is the carburettor inlet. very rough not smooth. another thing is the port doesnt match the port on the barrel. slightly oversize on the width, long on the length. well that was my experience. maybe i wasnt a regular so he didnt give a gd job. but for his regular customer i think he will.

hi My_234_Melody  , do try to join us on our rides if you can. tazzy_jnr and myself would be most delighted to have a fellow lady rider joining us. same goes to the thread-starter, dark_angel. you have been pretty quiet of late. would love to hear from you and hopefully see you around soon. and to all lady vespa riders (esp those riding classic vespas) - i am so sick of always being the only female rider in the group so please come out from hiding!

and for anyone who's interested in joining us for our annual CNY charity ride and our ride up to kota tinggi, please do feel most welcome to. we would love to see new faces around.

cephelix - haha to be honest, i don't know. :shy: i will know when i settle my bill with ah joo  getting a couple of things done - checking and servicing, my sidebox resprayed, my back wheel white wall replaced, white mainstand shoes fitted and the centre portion of my back tire resprayed white (cos the color is totally faded off with age). doing too many things - didn't want to ask ah joo how much will this cost, how about that and that too? haha paisei la.

Right Maz... sorry to hear that...

I hope to arrange a day that Ah Wee can devote to doing my scooter... I'll take leave and give him a hand doing it... Need to order parts first though...

Fancy getting anything from Germany?? SIP or Worb5.... I'm looking to share shipping costs!

Oooh. and on the mechanic front... I've asked this chap called Stroker on the Scrambler board to help put me in touch with one of their mechanics, I need to have my cylinder head re-profiled... If he's any good, I'll let you know.
