i told you when i sold you the bike. walau!

 

anyways what's done is done, now what u have to do is keep calling LTA, they give u this pink slip when they impound your bike right? by right you have to pay $10.20 for everyday your bike is in impound and the towing fees. i think abt $80. you call them rush them for the interview date. when they finally call you down for interview(mine took a month plus), stress to the investigating officer that u don't have enough money. he will waive the impoundments fee, but you still have to pay for the towing and some admin fee. then you got to go all the way to some ****ing far place to tow ur bike back.

 

soon after someone will come to your house and personally serve you the summon to court. with four charges. i tell you what mine states, 1st charge Riding a laid-up bike without informing LTA, 2nd charge, Riding without license, 3rd charge, Riding without insurance, 4th charge, Riding without roadtax. Each charge carries a maximum fine of 2k.

but the officer tell me they guarantee won't fine more than 4k. so i standby 5k. i'm also paying myself. now awaiting my court case. will also be losing my driving license revoke for a year or two. after awhile you'd accept the fact la. doesn't bother me much now. haha.

 

will let you knw the outcome aft my court case. my court hearing is next week but i will be mentioning (postpone) the case for mitigation/ to make representation. (actually so i can drive up to malaysia b4 they gatung my license) will let you knw soon la. now relak, and keep bothering LTA bout ur interview date. the longer they keep ur bike in impoundment, ur bike come out need to change battery all again, and stuff will rust all, value of bike also drop. anyways tc.

just to cheer u you a bit. haha i was worse than you. i was caught less than a month b4 i got my license. same case as you. no license, no ins, no road tax and no inform lta change of garage address cos bike under lay up. all max 1k only no license 2k everything add up max 5k. during mitigation i plead i am still a student and the fine is a loan from from my relative which i have to return myself. so i kenna 2.3k. now i wonder if i tell the judge i got my license alr will the sentense be lighter? or wiil kenna shoot til jialat jialat. or maybe during interview with lta i tell them i getting license alr maybe they will drop 1 charge. haha you can try and tell me wad will happen yea? anyway ur court date still long. mine took 4 months from kena caught to kena sentence. now still serving that 1 yr term. been saving up so hopefully next yr can buy car alr. i can only tell u this is a serious mistake which will make u fell miserably. there's really too much i have to say. now can only suck thumb see others bike and dream of having it again. oh ya i even dream of riding last night with my dad shouting u got license meh? lol even though all this happened many months ago but i still having the dream of riding. take it easy man. cos this is a lesson you and i will not forget it. anyway i got my license after i get caught cos i alr booked my tp then since i paid the fees alr so i just go then i suay suay pass when everyone struggle hard to pass while i hope to fail.lol one last advice to you, ignore those flamers cos they sucks unless you go quarrel with them and dont learn ur lesson. gd luck to you!!

Sad story but to make it short i got caught by tp today simply cause i forget to signal and worse part was i dun have license and bike is under lay up.. the towed my bike away alrdy.... but reason why i post here wanted to know wat are the legal procedures and charges for these offences and usually if plead will it really help... really hope to hear from u guys... i was alrdy at prac 8..just beacause of that moment of excitement everything was lost:'(

i was like tht too. young, rash, and curiousity got the better of me and my frens.

 

i was rather lucky tht i was the first to get my license.

until one day two of my best frens went out to ride.

(guy A, who had no licence, was at Prac 8, was riding a laid up bike under my name.

guy B, no licence too, Prac 4, rode another fren's bike.)

 

Guy B self skidded, hitting face first into a lamp on a filter lane.

Guy A was right behind, trying to revive him.

 

Paramedics and TP arrived swiftly and upon diagnosis,

Guy B died on impact, from a broken neck.

Guy A was consequently brought back to HQ with the crashed bike's owner for further investigations.

 

 

i was on the other side of SG when it happened.

Subesequently, I had to go to court 11 times in the following yr as we tried every available avenue of help. TP HQ, MPs, AGC, lawyers, we even roped in a former CJ to help us write-in.

But the Crashed bike's owner was too distraught tht he couldnt bring himself to say tht Guy B "stole" his bike.

 

 

Verdict: Both the Crashed bike's owner and Guy A got a 1 yr ban, and was fined. I was deemed to be innocent as I wasn't the one who passed the keys to Guy A, even if i was the owner.

 

the money wasn't the issue. neither was the license and the ban..

 

 

sigh thats the problem..

 

i takin my 2a got money to buy 2a bike but die die control...

 

if buy sure ride even in car park one time kena finish already...

 

maximum standby 5k for summon lor that is the worse case scenario and the ban i think one year...

 

but it all depends on how many charges they pressing and how many tic(taken into consideration)

got 4 charges but dun mean will press all.. during mitigation can ask for concurrent 2 charges into one.. so only press on with 2 charges that is the minimum.. then max fine like that will b 4k...

 

but if judge let u further concurrent the fine then is 2k.....

 

as for time of licence that one is all up to the judge discretion... some judge dun like speeders some dun like no licencers.. some dun like drinkers...

 

depend on ur luck...

but most important is dun test the system.. i test alot of times always lose one.. now i give in to the system life easier..

last time i riding without license too and get caught by tp and was lay up . there are 4 charge on lay up bike i think the fine is around $3k and cannot take license for 1 year , and oh ya since u stop at prac 8 don go and book for tp wait for ur revoke end and renew than just have to retake rtt only than u carry on go for tp

It certainly did not make me feel better that someone who has no licence, with a laid up bike is running loose on the streets where there may be times when my friends, family members & even the general public is going to be running them down without a bike licence and using a laid up bike.

 

Whats worse is that, this person is going to cause the whole lot of licenced riders and their insurances, road tax and whichever crap to go up in $$$ while he saves his $$$$ to pay for fines.

 

Oh yes....I can imagine the rest of the world needing to be cheered up by one such fellas that needed to be cheered up for his misdeeds.

I really can't stand this kind of cases. Ride without licence is one thing, if ride without insurance and get into accident, the other side got no insurance to claim from!!!

 

BTW even if insurance company gives you insurance when you haven't got your licence, the company can still refuse the claim. Because what you did is plainly illegal.
