i don't really know how to "open" up to the speedo part, later break anything need pay more.

another problem im working on is the rust on my pipe, tried to get it off via few methods:

aluminium foil with water (makes the pipe smooth but doesn't remove rust)

aerosol (no effect for me)

turtle wax rust removal (doest work as well)

anyone has tackled this problem before?

Ooo i forgot. If u really stubborn and have time once i removed rust from chrome bumper with acetone (pink) or nail polish remover and cotton rug. Bit by bit with bit force putting into it.

To be honest removing like that surface rust will help temporarly will come back month or 2 later. Cant help it much. Unless remove all and make new again like i wrote before. ;)

Let me know how it went ;)

Ta200 still popular in your area? Are parts expensive or cheap?

Yes they still are... when they show up on sale go very fast. Specially among expacts. They easy to maintain and ride good, services cheap, smaller parts cheap any mechanic knows how fix it, parts easy to get.

I very enjoy ride on it :)

Do you have any contacts for custom fuel tanks (bigger ones) over in Thai?

Hi guys, can anyone tell me what is the original size for the front and rear sprockets for TA200. If I like to change to a smaller size sprockets, what would be the recommended size? I use the expressway everyday for my journey to work. Hope you guys can help. Thanks.

13/ 41. Max in front is 13. More than that will grind the front cover. rear got option for 39, which could be more comfortable for highway cruising.

Hi, as I know, phantom does not have a fuel gauge. How to tell when the tank is almost empty?

hi pineapple, welcome as a phantom rider! usually just fill it up, monitor 200km-250km and you know you are good to refill.

for me between that range i will go pump! and yes phantom no guage :(

For Gen 1, the pet cock is usually kept at the 'On' position. Once a rider experienced "empty throttling", he will switch the pet cock to "Reserve" and make it to the nearest petrol kiosk to top up. From the point where the reserve is activated, the fuel tank has about +-2.5 litres of fuel left. For a trouble-free bike, its about another 75km worth of road.

However, if the rider forgets about keeping the petcock at "on" but left it on "reserve" and experiences the "empty throttling", its going to be a trip on foot (or public transport) to the nearest kiosk to buy petrol in can.

For Gen 2, the speedo comes with a low fuel indicator. However, there is no "reserve" position on the pet cock. The "low fuel" lights up similarly when there is about 2.5 litres left in the tank.

Hi guys.

For th past month I've been riding with a problem;

When I'm at gear 4 and am not accelerating (throttle off), my engine produces strong vibration and loud sounds, i believe may come from th moving piston..

Should i get the mechanic to take a look at it? But th cost of removal of the top engine will cost abit. Or should i wait for further problem to arise.

Thanks a million.

I never check my tyre pressure but I can feel when it is not right or my pick up is bad.

I will just bring to ah koon to check for me.

I don't really care about fc too.

I work at pasir panjang and I stay at sembawang.

I top up every week full tank, shell v-power.

So, u can roughly estimate the km/l.

130km for TA200 is good. But have you factored in the meter error? The higher the speed the higher the error. All else being said, I don't recommend 130km on TA200 on Singapore roads. Especially nowadays where you have potholes and longitudinal humps on roads and even expressways.

Good for you tho, take good care of your TA200, its going to serve you very well.

anyone tried changing the rims on their phantom? specifically the rear rim.

You mean change to original or change to other rims? Changed out my rear rim once for a scrap part. Cos the axle hole elongated. The shop charged me $120.
