Hi, may I ask if whats the problem if usually after a long ride of more then 20km with speed 110 and bike tend to died off by itself when coming to a stop at traffic light.

not too sure but u might want to see a mechanic? also do u slow down or decelerate suddenly? try slowing down more gradually see if it happens.

im guessing air flow or fuel delivery issues. (sudden lean conditions/air control valve?) i remb u mentioned u had backfire after deceleraton last time.

ok, ya. think i slowed down too fast after exiting from expressway.

back fire was solved the other time when servicing, how to adjust the lean and richness control ah

i not too sure if u adjust lean or rich will solve the problem leh.. cos if somewhere yr air circuit is leaking (causing lean condition) or yr air valve didnt engage during deceleration u make it richer will only mask the real issue..

i suggest maybe tighten screw A and see if its really lean condition during yr slow down first to see if its the issue first (check spark plug color first also)..

if got time really go down and find ah chong.. lol

on additional note check your idle rpm also to gather more info!

oh, spark plug need removed all to check the color of just see the color of the thread? mine seem to be brown thread

yes u need to remove all the way. not the colour of the thread but the color of the insulator. if it was lean yr insulator would be close to white, rich, light brown to brown.

see images around 20 onwards for sample below:

(p.s. dont over torque/tighten yr spark plug when u put it back! cylinder is made of soft metal)

remember screw A (near the VE marking) we discussed the other time? tighten to richen, loosen to make it more lean; remb how many turns u turn, and adjustment very sensitve one so maybe turn 1/8 to 1/4 of a turn everytime. best if you have a tachometer on hand to adjust to really make precise changes.

That screw only affects ur idling circuit. When on the move, u might need to hv a closer look on the inside, such as the main jet, needle, etc. could be clogged up somewhere or maybe a leaky seal.

Ever had an issue. Adjust adjust so many things cant solve. End up its the rubber boot connecting the carb to the engine had a small tear.

Opening up is not that hard actually, but the issue is if something is spoilt, you dont have any spares on hand. Then u nd to reassemble then go to the shop to buy parts, come back n open again. Troublesome.

agreed. further more u might have to ensure everything is sealed back properly for any o-rings and gaskets inside.

open and close many times not so good if the o rings or gaskets are already worn.

just let someone pro do and watch him from far and learn from there better also =D

btw, that time u have rubber leak what symptoms yr bike shows? im still troubleshooting after months also =X

Occasionally the bike will stutter. Like stuck stuck feeling. If at really high revs wen dragging gear, will jerk quite badly. One way to test for leakage is get carb cleaner spray. While engine running, squirt ard the carb and the rubber tube all. If the engine sputters, u might hv a leak.

eh. and the carb cleaner will get into the circuit when it sputters? thinking of using wd40 cos dont have carb cleaner for the moment but not too sure if its good for the circuit..

(or spray acetone cos it seems carb cleaner msds says there's some inside?)

i do get rhythmic jerks when cruising but dont have the extreme stuck or power issue.. its always the low throttle openings / idle circuit that is inconsistent when i slow down for sharp hilly turns when going to work =S

Yes. If it gets in, it will sputter. So u knw that area got leak. Nt sure abt wd40 though. But the carb cleaner is only a few $.

if i remember correctly, wd40 is not meant to clean carb. got people use but some say it's not recommended as wd40 contains corrosive agent which may spoil ur carb.

Guys, WD40 is extremely bad for all types of seals, o-rings & gaskets.

Yes, r1der is correct, WD40 is quite corrosive. It will damage most rubber or sillicone components. Please be careful.

Ride fast but safe... Skills matters most... the slow ONE... I WAS TOO SLOW at 1min 50.9sec :D

Past rides: Quite a few and different types

Wd40 actually does not cause any corrosion to bike. People actually uses it to prevent rusting. WD stands for water displacement, iirc corrosion will not happen without water.

thanks for the advice on wd40! i didnt realise it can dissolve rubber compounds as well!

it will not corrode metal parts but i think after i use wd40 on metal if i dont at least oil it, the rust might be worst since the penetrating components will evaporate and leave only light oil behind. its meant to displace water and as a penetrant but not for long term rust prevention.

Is it expensive for a carb check up? For opening, replace o-ring, gasket circuit leaks etc.

u can ask naim, i think he got go svc carb before, i read somewhere in the archives

Getting my 2B very soon, have been sniffing around for what kind of bike to buy, not really into sports bike, but kind of weird, I fall in love with cruiser, as we know there is not much class 2B cruiser around me to choose from? There are two cruiser caught my eyes, TA150 and his brother TA200, I am very new to phantom, all I know it that t150 is running with 2S engine while t200 is 4s engine, and 2s engine need to top up t2 oil.

Any pros and shifu please enlighten me on which bike is better and why?

Viewed a 11years ta150 coe renew till 2020, selling at 2.5k, I have test the bike, it seems fine to me. Engine sound, outlook is fine I can say it is about 7.5/10. How is the deal?

Not sure what should I get, a tA150 or 200?

Anyone selling pls do sms me to 98890820
