Hi I'm 23 but only passed my 2B 2 weeks ago.. Quite passionate and a live long dream to own a scrambler.. Money is not really a problem as I'm working and I've accumulated roughly about 1.5k for downpayment and can afford about $300 for maintenance and fuel per month.

Currently managed to shortlist Wr200 and DR 200.. Was interested in WR for a long time but heard about so many problems including maintenance, and parts, and condition. DR200 seems to me a much better parts in the form of above but heard that its quite short for a 1.77m guy like me..

Hope you guys can share some thots on which would be the more suitable bike for me or recommend me a better bike.. Also where could I possibly find the bike (new vs 2nd hand) and the price?

Thanks so much in advance! Also not forgetting my main purpose for the bike is transport.

Sighs.... I too have been looking around for a bike that is practical and yet does not look like a bike I stole from my Aunty for a ride.

Most of the practical bikes tend to look like they are designed to be ridden by some uncle wearing oversized khaki bermudas and a singlet.

One of the two bikes I am looking at is also in your choice list.

I tend to favour the DR200 for practicality, but the looks... leave little to be desired.

Cost wise, I believe, that the Suzuki would be more affordable.

In any case, if looks are the department that blows your whistles, then your other choice will probably get your money.

Check with the bigger shops as they normally quote a little higher, but you will not get hassles of "hidden" costs, etc etc

Happy shopping..... :thumb:

WR200 is a two-stroker, with all the looks, and performance but given your conditions, I wouldn't touch a WR200. It's just not practical, and cost effective to use it as a daily commuter.

DR200 has a dated clumsy look, and performance is pale against the WR2 but it's very economical and reliable, and it's one major advantage over the WR2 is the electric "magic button" start which makes it very suitable as a transport bike.

2b bikes are usually transitional, so it doesn't make sense spending too much money on it.

Hi, i would aim for a second hand bike. Im sure u are gunning for a class 2A and are likely to dump your current ride after a year. Much more nicer choices of 2A bikes out there.
