Any tips on where to get a 1 piece race suit under 1000$? Any colours except all black. Should have hump.

I reeeally like the Texport that Biketech21 has, but its 1280,- so a bit too much for me...

Thanks for any advice...

Heya, I guess you're not from Singapore?

Looking for less than SGD1000 suits? You're in luck.

There are suits sold in this country that fit your budget. With a hump too. Some examples:

1. GPR, IZ-2: those are around $400

2. NANKAI: 400 above

3. Rjays: 400 - 700, depending on type and design. Australian brand. This is sold @ Regina (at Jalan Besar)

4. Rev-It: around 750. Italian brand with a fairly decent rating. Sold at Chiap Lee.

All these are mostly stocked and sold by stores located in the Jalan Besar area.

**I shouldn't be saying that cheaper is better. While they do the job on some track-falls and slides, better suits may offer much more protection features.

Many thanks for the reply! Nice of you.

Yesss i was born in Finland, but live in Bangkok. I come to Singapore now and then mainly to get visa to Thailand, but also in my work, i work as engineer on a ship.

Suits are hard to come by in Thailand, and the ones they have are very pricey.

Of Rjays and Revit, whick one to prefer?

Again, many thanks to you!

I just happened to click this thread's previous pages and out of deja vu, somebody did mention that Revit offered him the best comfort.

When I bought my friend suit-shopping, we compared the various Rjays and one Rev'It GT Corse suit (click the images to enlarge)

Rev'It GT Corse (front and closeup)

While the Rev'It suit was nice, my friend wanted something that has more perforations ('breathable' holes). The Rjays suit fit the bill.

=========

P.S.: Hey guys, i'm sure Rjays and Revit aren't the only mid-priced suits in Singapore, am I right to say that?

Again, many thanks to you!

Tom

Well, I think it's worth a mention that most of the people here (bikers all the more) are quite receptive here in Singapore. Of course, do look out for the occasional warning signs and ripoffs when purchasing stuff though, if money does matter to you.

Nice, if nothing else pops up i'll go for the Rjays with more holes, cos BKK can be veeery hot sometimes, need vent.

I've been to Regina one time before, got myself a new AGV visor there. This time i'll aim for the shirt guy then, not the guy with specs...hehe. I guess foreginers get a higher price there than locals, but its ok if its just a bit.. Last time i went there, place was so packed, hard to get to the counter. It was in the weekend.

I think the Singaporeans are very friendly and helpful, its always so nice to go there. And cabbies that not try to rip u off, amazing! In Thailand as a foreginer you get tricked, cheated or ripped off almost on a daily basis with anything relating to money, so its truly nice to come and relax in Singapore. Only 17 days left...

Oh and what does "Upz" mean? When is the time to give "upz" to something? Im not that into the Sing lingo yet haha.

Many thanks!

I guess "upz" is juz an abbreviation of "thumbs up" :thumb:. We do so mainly at garage sales section to help boost the sales by our friends our simply when we see something worthy. By posting "upz", we automatically bring the post to the top of the page and thus it stays current. Cheers!

Ahh, i was going to buy the Rjays from Regina, just called them and i dont think they have my size, will get more stuff in 3 weeks time, but i'll be gone by then! I'll stay just 2 days in Spore, 18th-19th.

So i need a backup plan, is there another place that sells Rjays??

The Rjays would have been nice, since my bike is red-white-blue.

But any advice on suits under 1000$ is welcome, pls help me, i'm panicking here...

Thanks,

Tom

Other than catching a tour bus to KL, and then Singapore; or a budget airline flight -- I really can't think much of other ways if you really want to get that suit after you leave.

Have you been down to Regina yet? If you will be, preferably approach Darren and liaise with him -- ask him if he can get the suit in earlier just for you. Phonecalls are sometimes unreliable and it's best to see the salesman in person who can check up his stock of suits.

As far as I know, Regina is the only bike apparels store that stocks up on Rjays. Other shops do sell suits like these, but are mostly above $1k

I am just curious

How do you guys wash your suit after a sweaty track day? Esp the lower body of the suit which is abit restricted to access.

maybe u slow talk with a guy name darren..riding a harley.. hes quite good, i bought an alpinestar suit without humps at 600SGD. maybe u can discuss with him about the pricing..hes a nice guy to bargain with...haha:angel:  in other alternative, chiap lee also selling viper suits at 450SG with humps. to me, i find viper is more better than the rjay co at the groin area is strectable unlike the rjay.so the suit is more comfortable...maybe u can take a look..its all in tat area..just across the road..just my 2 cents...

Thanks Sapitos and Redbeacon!

I'd love to check out that Viper suit from Chiap, however his webpage is a bit limited. Anybody seen a pic somewhere of it? When i called Chiap Lee, they said they will get the new Clover Evo it like 3 months.

Anyhow i'll ring up Darren in Regina from my ship, talk a bit if he can get hold of the Rjays earlier.

Thanks a million guys, this means a lot to me.

Hi

after a fall and the suit was damaged with torn areas. Anyone know of any shops out there able to fix it?

Rev-It track suits are pretty good.. in fact Rev-it is being worn by Randy de Puniet... i feel that it's a pretty comfy suit... the Clover ones are good too... the Viper ones are pretty decent.. and would suit beginners more.. since they are around 450 - 550??(anyone to confirm?)

damn!

This mysterious Viper suits, where are they sold? Anybody know of any pics on www?

I see my chances of a nice suit under 1000 go down the drain, since my size is a bit larger than average. Talked to Regina, he said Alpinestars for me...

Whats the cheapest Astar suit in 1 piece? Is it the Octane?

Be in Singapore in 10 days...

Thanks guys,

Tom

why not consider the brand motogp?

http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?from=R40&_trksid=m37&satitle=motogp+suit&category0=

it's really value worth money, consider some of it are kangoo skin... the suit is actually made by Berik, but marketed under a different name in the west.

berik and arlen ness are from the same company and are common used by motogp riders.
