sorry to ask u this qn. Sign on very rich ah? so remote iginition is useless, wats useful? I know i dun need the remote and i dun intend to use it. Push start session very boh liao, so wats good? with the statement u make against me.. It doesn't reflect much abt ur inteligence too!

Just got myself a gsxr400rrp today from a private seller. Engine condition ok, bike starts easily and comes with fairly new BT020 tire. Half way back the bike stalled due to idling set too low, after adjust ok.

 

The rear shock was changed, from CBR400 I think, the tailboard is higher maybe due to the longer rear shock or shorter dog bone, have not verified yet. Rear fender was removed and replaced by chain guard, the shock feels very hard and there is a squeaky sound when the shock is compressed. The exhaust is modified to high mount to fit the raise tailboard.

 

Other problem found

1. Right side mirror crack (Get from LAB)

2. choke cable missing (Get from KS)

3. difficult to shift neutral (Change engine oil)

4. front brake disc very thin (See if there is any second hand available)

5. brake dont work very well (Change brake pads and bleed the brake)

6. brake lights not working (Maybe the wrong bulb was use)

7. valve cover has slight oil leak (Change valve cover gasket)

8. paintwork has scratches (May sent to shop for respray)

9. rider seat cushion is separted (See if there is any 2nd hand one)

10. fork got some oil stain but no leak. (Change fork oil and seal)

11. Chain is non o-ring type (Install chain oiler)

 

Anyone has the gsxr400 p model manual, can lend to to photocopy??

He didn't scold me for anithing.. I asked y i install yoshi my pickup so slow then he explained to me how to counter the problem.. He explained alot to me abt my queries on the bike too.. Then he treat me to drinks somemore..

The GSXR400 Manual does not seem to exist.. the only manual found closest is probably the GSX400 manual for Bandit.. Slight difference in Tire size, engine oil amt etc..

Yep, that's the bike. The previous owner only rode for 1 month.

 

Can gave me the address of the mechanic at JB, wana bring the bike over to check what is causing the squeaking sound at the rear shock.

thanks, I got the pics from ibikes. I used to have the link to download the bandit400 manual but its dead now.

 

How many litres of oil for oil change only and oil change plus oil filter. Is the oil filter same as bandit4??

 

Do you know what is the valve clearance for gsxr4, is it the same as b4??

 

Will be doing all the servicing on my own, so need all the info.

hey guys, just wanna thank you guys for the help u have given mi the past few days... thanks to shawn too... for the recommendation to planet... lucky... coz guan hoe gave mi a quote for a rectifier at $209... i was like... shocked... then when i called planet they quoted mi 80 for a second hand... 170 for a first hand...

 

anyway.. i will be going to planet later to collect my bike.. hope tat there will be no more problems for some time.. ah bo.. i also donno wat to do with it liao...

EO oil change is diff from bandit.. sial but i forgot how much liao.

U check da volume stated at ur engine cover, i forgot its 2900ml or 2800ml. Its da EO change amount. Bandit wan i think is 2300ml for EO change and 2900ml for EO+oil filter. So its like u take ur g4's engine casing tat reading minus 2300ml. = A

 

EO change = Engine casing tat reading

EO + oil filter = Engine casing tat reading + A
