Did u go for a carb service ever since getting your bike? I used to have this problem whenever i rev, engine will die so reason is most likely tuning out of sync, go for cheaper solution which is likely your air filter that is dirty. I changed to an OEM g4 air filter($35/= from KS Motor) and my carb serviced by the infamous Ah Beng from Planet and *poof* and it lasted me for 4 mths till now.

Now my idling is lowly 0.7k(save petrol) and nv die on me be4...except for hot starting....which is quite a norm.

Last but not least, I would like to thanks icez, joe, raymond and juliet for the trouble!!

Love u guys... Muackz!! Same goes to kevin

Shawn, phew!!! Haha... luckily keys with ya friend! thanks everyone for the concerns. Can't wait to see my babe roar into action again. Anyone tried Maxima Extra EO be4 on their g4?

The details u gave seems very vague..

When ur idling, how much is ur rpm? will it die off if u dun rev?

if it does, maybe its the magnetic coil on the left side.. I'm not very sure if G4 has one, but my TZR could not maintain rpm, must keep reving else the engine dies off.

Hows the sound of the engine and exhaust when idling? is it smooth? if it sounds uneven or like a 2 stroke or a GN 125 ah pek bike, most likely its the tuning off or spark plug not working.. Can check the spark plug by touching the front four exhaust (header)

lastly.. sounds stupid but got fuel or not? and which position did u place ur fuel cork?

Pls correct me if there's something i said wrongly.

Brocks Rocks!!!! Best for Kawa.

S750WP:yap. We can onli use katana 750 wan. But must mod da air intake hole to be smaller n exact as da stock's size. But darkvader's 1 no need to mod sial.

Wilson: oh ya. Set ur idling to about 1krpm. Lower then tat, ur engine will die off if its tuning is not good or gone already. best is to off ur headlight when u start ur bike. Much easiler to start. For tuning, yeah i heard combine motor is good (but no chance to try). But i personally recommend K&T clifford for tuning. He got da exact equipment to tune ur air/fuel intake. And carb balancer he's using da common wan. It cost $80 same as combine motor. Planet is $65 using common carb balancer but no equipment to tune ur air/fuel intake. They using hearing skill wan. Guan Hoe si bei hoe, they use a old model/ outdated carb balancer n use hearing skill too. $35.

In this world.. quality comes in with money

I'm quite curious.. Wats the right equipment? Wat does K&T use huh? Can enlighten me please?..

Can i add on a little too? Hearing skill does not mean no good nor bad.. It varies from individual.. right? If the person can give u good tuning thru hearing his skills are there.. If you want black and white accuracy think have to use equipment lor... Somethimes give equipment to them also dunno how to use also no point.. Like give me the vacuum reader i also cant tune the bike.. much less say tune thru hearing haha :goodluck: :cheeky:

Here r some tips, it may be useful;

For the more adventurous who are considering riding into Thailand, this thread may be of some help to you. The information provided here is based on my limited experience and what I could cull from the Internet. If you have ventured there before, kindly help to update the information here or share with us your experiences especially when immigration, customs or police officers have their own rules and regulations for the day.

From Malaysia, you can ride into Thailand at three legal land crossings. If you are using the North-South Highway, the most convenient entry point is at Bukit Kayu Hitam which is at the northern end of the highway. For those taking the eastern coastal route up, you can enter Thailand via the Rantau Panjang/Sungai Golok crossing in Kelantan. If you also want to ride the East-West Highway, you can cross into Thailand at Keroh/Bentong, near the western end of the highway. Note that the Padang Besar checkpoint in Perlis is for pedestrians only, and the one at Pengkalan Kubor at the northern tip of Kelantan is a ferry crossing.

Leaving Malaysia

At the Bukit Kayu Hitam checkpoint, which opens from 6am-12 midnight daily, hand in your passport together with your Malaysia disembarkation card. After immigration clearance and a short ride into no-man’s land, there is a police booth where Malaysian police will inspect your vehicle’s registration documents. Try to have ready your log card (or copy), passport and owner authorization letter if the bike is not yours.

After the police checkpoint there is a duty-free shopping centre on the left. There you can get the usual duty-free stuff and some supermarket items. You can also change money and purchase your bike insurance there. But if you are in a hurry to get to Hadyai (for whatever reasons), just bypass the shopping centre and head straight to the Thai immigration border.

Entering Thailand

At the Thai checkpoint there is a kiosk on the left side where you can pick up copies of the immigration documents which include the arrival/departure card and the temporary importing vehicle form. These documents are in both Thai and English and are relatively easy to complete. But if you are too tired to write after the long ride, petition writers are more than happy to complete them for you for a modest fee (going rate about RM1/head).

At the immigration booth, present your passport and duly completed arrival/departure card for clearance. Holders of a Singapore passport which is valid for at least another 6 months should be able to enter Thailand for 30 days. Those holding other travel documents can refer to the following website for entry formalities.

http://www.thaiairline.com/en/travelinfo_visa.asp

Nearby at the customs window hand in your passport and the bike documents (log card, temporary importing vehicle form and authorization letter). You should have your bike with you as they may want to inspect it. Here the customs officer will issue you a Simplified Customs Declaration Form which you have to sign at the bottom to guarantee that you will export the bike out of the country. You may need to show this form later at the customs checkpoint at Sadao, a couple of kilometres down the road to Hadyai. Be sure to keep this document as you will have to surrender it when leaving the country. If you intend to exit Thailand at a different border crossing, you must inform the customs officials.

Bike Insurance

Legally, you need insurance to ride in Thailand but your Singapore insurance covers you only up to 50km into Thai territory. For travel in Thailand, you need at least the Compulsory Motor Insurance. This basic insurance covers all accident victims for damages caused by the vehicle in respect of life, body and health, but not any damage to the victim’s property.

The preliminary compensation paid without waiting for proof of liability is limited to 15,000B/person for medical treatment and/or cremation expenses. After either party has been proven liable, the full compensation (including preliminary amount paid) for medical treatment is limited to 50,000B/person, or, in case of death or permanent disablement, not exceeding 80,000B/person. If the insured is the liable party, he/she is eligible only for the preliminary compensation.

There are more than a dozen authorized insurance companies in Thailand which offer the compulsory insurance. As the contract is prescribed by the law, all insurance companies basically offer the same benefits and premium rates.

Premium Guide (Compulsory Insurance)

(Rate) 125cc 150cc >150cc

..9 days 175B 196B 217B

19 days 186B 217B 248B

29 days 194B 233B 273B

A more expensive Third-Party insurance covers also the victim’s vehicle. If you want comprehensive insurance coverage, try to purchase a temporary one from Viriyah Insurance. The company has a branch in Hadyai at 6 Jutiutit 2 Road. Alternatively, you may try to get one in Singapore.

Premium Guide (Third Party)

(Rate) 125cc 150cc >150cc

..9 days 366B 396B 425B

19 days 472B 516B 560B

29 days 555B 612B 669B

Failure to have insurance is liable to a fine between 10,000B and 50,000B, and failure to display the Insurance sticker is liable to a fine not exceeding 2,000B.

Lost Passport

If your passport is lost or stolen, you will need to do the following:

File a report at the nearest police station;

Take two passport-sized photographs (instant photos okay);

Contact the Singapore Embassy’s Consular Section. The embassy would need the copy of the police report and documentary proof of your citizenship and your identity – preferably with your photograph on it e.g. Identification Card.

Hatyai Town is a commercial town and shopping of tourists

During the day you can either travel around the city - seeing natural site such as famous 'Maiden' Songkla Beach, mountain & forest, water falls, ancient places, old and beautiful temples or do some shopping. This is the place you can find many types of goods. Many restaurants in different styles and many new-and-delicious strange menu serving you for 24 hours.

During the night , many various entertainments are exciting and dazling. You can see movies, listen to music, or join in discotheque, karaoke or nightclub whatever you want.

Q. How to get there..?

A. Few modes of transportation, the most exciting & interesting way still by bike.

Q. How far & the traveling time to be..?

A. It's about 805km from GP's Esso to Bkt Kayu Hitam, arrival time will much depend on your speed & stop/refreshment intervals.

An example; if you are travelling average at 120km/hr, every minit is 2km, for that speed you need approximately less than 8hrs of travelling time. To get the exact journey's duration you need to add your refreshment intervals.

Q. What are the things & documents i have to prepared..?

A. Bring only what you need & money. A copy of vehicle registration card is require to declare ownership of your bike before entering the kingdom of Thailand. The carbon copy of the vehicle import chit is to be well kept & must return before leaving Sadao, a penalty fee would be required if it's misplaced or failure to returned during your stay from your visit to Thai again before entry. A small endorse fee of rm1 or 20baht is payable for each passport. To avoid unneccessary delays at custom, prepared with all the above.

For another 40mins or 55km you will be in Hatyai town.

North/South Highways R&Rs

North Bound

75km = Machap - R&R, Petronas.

146km = Pagoh - R&R, Shell.

455km = Sg. Buloh - Esso.

440km = Rawang - R&R, Petronas.

340km = Tapah - R&R, Shell.

250km = Sg. Perak - R&R, Petronas.

226km = Gantang - Caltex.

196km = Semanggol - Esso.

- Sg. Perak R&R @ 250km

South Bound

- Semanggol @ 195km

- Ulu Bermam R&R @ 399km

- Ayer Keroh R&R @ 209km

- Machap R&R @ 75km

Danger Area

1) Mark 250km to 280km along Ipoh, ride thru a mountain tunnel, up/down wide bends, & spectacular scenic mountainous view, very refreshing when during dawn & breath of fresh air from the mist.

2) Mark 70km before Kedah(Bukit Kayu Hitam). Strong wind area, to be more cautious, you can feel bike riding slanted.
