ani 1 here fix air horn ?

where u place the horn ?

where u get the horn done?

i gt airhorn liao but dunno where can fix on this bike leh... if put beside the side fairing, i heard it will melt...

U wan a place wont melt one will be below the sai tao between the forks where the original horn is loacated. There are 2 scres positioned nicely to fit ur brackets. remember to use relay and make sure the mech draws pwr directly from the batt thru a fuse. else ur horn will be loud at times and soft at others..

hello peeps,

just bought a gsxr400 and overall speaking i think its a good purchase. pleased to join you guys as well (hope im in the right thread though).

however, there are a few basic things i wanna ask for basic maintenance stuff and i know they're not properly phrased, but just help wherever u can =D

1. i noticed there is no fuel gauge on the gsxr400, im fine with that but i just need to know how far it can go on a full tank.

2. still on the fuel gauge thing- no way one can be installed on the gsxr400?

3. my bike before this is an sp and the idling screw is easily located- where is the idling screw for the gsxr400?

4. issit just me or does the gsxr perform poorly at low speeds? my 3/4/5 gear seems to be travelling at the nearly the same range of speed, but when it hits 6th gear, it seems like i can throttle it forever without really hitting 'resistance'.

5. had alot of feedback from friends saying that gsxr400 is a problematic bike, particularly in terms of wiring. i hope you guys can give me some examples of what they are.

thanks alot guys.

Actually, i jus wanna add something, if u bend low enuf, u will c a knob in the centre of the carb. its smack right in the centre of the row of carb.. pretty easy to locate.

I checked abt the price for a fuel gauge last time, must change the whole tank. or u have to cut oopen the tank and fit in the float. cost abt $100-200. Think twice, thrice!

wilson, i will ans your question.

Guan Hoe usually charges pple slightly more ex than the normal shops if you're a one off customer. Depending on how well you can 'ar' with the boss and assistant you will be able to get a better price. The boss is very well versed with stock maintainence of the g4 but dun ask him how to do mods. He will give you a piece of his mind..... lol.

hey,

i got a problem with my g4.

when it hits above ~5k rpm, the engine will die off.

it feels like running out of petrol.

if i maintain it at or below 4k, its ok.

problem started just now when i tried to move off at 2nd gear(i think).

about 2 mths ago, the idling speed went up to 4-5k while riding.

happened twice, i turned the idling screw a little, then back to normal.

3rd time, i didnt have to do anything.

the problem went away and it has been fine for these 2 mths.

could it be a carb problem, time to clean the carb?

but was told by a mechanic in jb that the tube(or something) somewhere near the engine for air intake is torn.

or could this be the cause?

i'll go ahead and clean the carb on monday, if that doesnt work, i have no idea what to do next.

anyone encountered this before?

thanks in advance for any help!

I believe your mech is right, the engine rubber manifold which connects to the carb maybe worn off hence the eractic idling. I think those are pretty ex to replace, try to clean your air filter and carb to see if it cures the problem if not then check those rubber manifold.

Hmmm just cum to think abt a small issue from me....Currently i using Maxima chainlube but gonna finishing soon....Anyone have a beta recommendation for a chainlube?? Think of changing teh brand cause i find maxima pretty fast dry up and mayb that teh reason y it does not fling and whikle im spraying, i always inhale the toxic smell which i thinkis harmful....The last time i used was esso chainwax..and it does fling a little but i can see my chain is always cover with the lubricant. SO i need you guys expertise to recommend a chainlube which doe snot fling and can last for 2 wks and not 4geting wher to get it......... A million thankz:lovestruck: :lovestruck:

don't wan fling? I suggest getting the Scottoiler. Can control the amount of oil flow and can last you for months w/o refilling. 2 yrs down the road and i haven't even finish the bottle of lub that came with it. A worthy investment which can keep your chain lasting longer and cleaner. Not trying to advertise for it, just a happy user.

Ya i agree that is a good investment but i still prefer the traditional way...Throwing 100 pls to it and some more have to drill hole to fits(dun know the fixing for GK76A but i know others nid to do that) it really make me feel painful for my bike...So prefer teh spraying type and i dun mind abit of fling cos no matter what if teh lube dun fling that does not mean yr brake fluid dun...... :cheeky:

No need to drill holes.... drilling is only if you wan to. but so far i have not seen bikes having to drill holes to install the Scottoiler. Imagine the number of cans you use, after some time the cost will be almost the same as buying the oiler.

dun get you brake fluid part thou.

yes it can be done...i saw it before...but they change gears without clutching in...indirectly it means wearing out the clutch plates + gears.
