How did u know its carb overflow? Usually on old bike or 2b, there's always carb overflow.. this is due to closing throttle too fast then result in the carb having too much fuel so its very difficult to start bike. have to kick a few times then can start.

 

for our bike, if there carb overflow it will result in difficulty in starting bike, and burning ur spark plug. did ur spark plug fused? u can go back to planet or ah cong since u go there often to retune ur carb.. else if all else fails, u can go back to GH where mr han will retune ur bike for u. usually if ur spark plug always concuss, its due to carb tuning too rich.

hmm personally i think if da rpm tat ur valve open, u dun feel much troque or pulling then its time to do valve clearance ba.. not 100% true.. maybe S750WP can ans tat.

 

S750WP: 1 qns, change of coolant need to do bleeding wan meh? Got such thing as adjust? I heard from another fellow rider..

There is no exhaust valve on 4 stroke engines unlike 2 stoke which have RC Valves, KIPS valves. The only valves are the 8 intake valves and 8 exhaust valves.

 

Doing valve clearance is basically to ensure that the valves open and close fully and properly.

 

One tell tale sign that your valve clearance is out when you hear a light tapping sound from the cylinder head of the engine due to the valves hitting against the intake or exhaust ports.

 

But for GK76A, I would recommend you change the cam chain and tensioner because an overstretched chain and tensioner will produce a lot of rattling sound in the engine, muffling the valve tapping sound.

ok bike up running again. One of the float spoilt + fuel c0ck spoilt, and tt's y overflow. Have 2 choice, petrol from tank will flow until empty or stuck the overflow hole with something and so I itchy finger go stuck the overflow hole, as a result engine and carb filled with petrol, thus can't start. Tow to bikeworkz and this r the things I'd done:-

1) Changing float x 1 $40/=

2) Tune and resyn the whole carb as my carb had filled with petrol $80/=

3) New original Air filter $38/-

4) Tow Fees $20/=

+ Changing of fuel c0ck(I got spare), draining of all the petrol out from engine. All plugs are still intact! =P thanks to ah beng's finest tuning skill.

Total $178/=

$$$ but juz treat it as a full servicing other than changing plugs as all still intact plus I'd changed EO 1 mth ago, not tt bad..

and yeah, finally got my licence back.

I dun understand how the float can get out of position?? there are grooves in the carb for the float to sit in firmly and nicely unless the mechanic never installed properly than I have nothing to say.

 

Whether to do valve clearance is up to individual, neverthelss I will be sending mine to GH in 2 weeks time to do it if I can get a time slot.

 

Bleed the cooling system, I have heard it before, but never practice. I don't see how air can be bleed off by simply opening the drain bolt slightly. In fact , its more effective to bleed the air with the radiiator cap off and rev the throttle after you fill up the radiator.

my batt is ok...but my charging coil have prob...when i rev...my voltmeter is jumping up and down... and yes my carbon starter brand new only last me for 6mths... crap...
