we finally managed to sort out the K&N issues and after a lot of effert we have found one!

K&N

Jays bike is producing 69bhp at the minute(398cc)! His big bore engine hasnt gone in the bike yet either! With the 442cc you can expect to see between 20 and 25% increase in power as the compression ratio is increased too! I am currently working on the 3rd phase of development. Where jay is working on a 465cc kit. The 442cc will be say 59bhp +20-25%

I am currently working on a cdi mod too!

Interesting, but the site din mention anything about the model number of the k&n filter. Do you happen to know the model number of the filter you are using?

I think you went to the wrong mech to service your gsxr400, Guan Hoe is at Eunos Ave 3 is the suzuki servicing centre, they would have solve all your problems.

I rode the CB400 and change to gsxr400, they are both different bikes, street and sports. So its not comparable, I like the CB400 because the riding is more comfortable can install rear box, I like the GSXR400 because its more fun to ride.

Btw CB400 ver s have the coolant leaking problem at the engine block, take care, if you see coolant leaking from the hole on the side of your engine, prepare to spend abt 1K to change the block. My fren, ver s, is leaking, but temporary his mech use sealant to seal up.

yes i agree u have the point. But for the past year,my S4 so far so good. I find GSXR400 the best looking 400cc bike. I bought it for only $700 from a frend.Good experience i must say.

Is there light bulb on the temperature gauge? I pulled out the grommet and only saw a few wires but didn;t see any light bulb. For the speedo and tachometer I saw a light bulb in each.

Going to replace with LEDs one, as the old one quite dim already.

yes..there is a lite bulb inside temp gauge..but its damn difficult to take out..unlike speedo n rpm...

yes i'm from the UK.

the mods my bike has had so far are exhaust, K&N air filter and rejetted on a rolling road. Double bubble screen, R&G crash protection and speed limiter removal.

Planned mods for this year are 442cc big bore, gas flowed head, cams, new headers and cdi mods. Also radial brakes and gold forks and a double braced swingarm.

:hungry: for more power! But i wouldnt change my bike for the world!

Here everyone is 600cc plus but i want mine to be individual!

too bad in singapore..u cant change ur engine coz every engine theres a series numb...its against the law....

i ever had a frd from malaysia who modified his ZX4r by using ZX6r engine..dunno how he do it.

mayb u would like to show us ur bike photo? coz it realli pretty rare to find a 400cc bikes at UK/euro...

$700 dollar g4, no doubt, some things have to be fixed up. Go for 2nd hand parts, total price for ur g4 wont be over 2k ba. I mean if its near 2k, i think its pretty much perfect for riding liao.

the guy who raced the G4 was it tim otei by any chance? If it was i know tim and he is a nice guy!

To do the big bore you dont need to change your engine! It just requires the cylinders to be bored out and bigger pistons put in! You still have the standard engine there with different pistons! If you wanted to go further you can have the standard liners removed and bigger ones put in and then you can go to a bigger piston again!

another picture of my bike!

I know in the US, for the old watercooled gixxer, they put gsxr1100 engine into the gsxr750 chasis and called it 7-11.

Personally I've changed the bulb of the Temp Gauge. To change it u have to:

1. Unscrew the nut holdig the gauge to the bracket from behind

2. take out the gauge from the front

3. there's a wire going into the bulb with a rubber stopper like the tacho and speedo, pluck it out.

4. Change the bulb and put it back in.

LAB sells the bulb colored or non colored oes at $0.50 but they sucks.

1. not bright

2. fused easily

Go to Mah Pte oor some call it Mah Motor at Dunlop street back alley. Turn ito Dunlop St and turn left into the back alley u will c a bike shop there with umbrellas outside. They sell the bulb at $1 each but u may get it even cheaper.. its brighter and last better than LAB definitely! :thumb:
