haha.. naz is right in the sense regarding the bike's health. overhaul can extend the bikes health for sure. and i know its well maintained. regarding the price.. i hav lowered it to 2.6k. part n parcel of the price is also due to the 2-digit number plate. i dun i hav time to put it up for bid so jus selling as a package.yup! =]

Pick up slow....hmmmm...i guess....at times it depends on the rider...sometimes dpnds on the sprocket size.....Timing of yur first and 2nd gear....Pipe does play a part too....so does caburretor.....However....speed in yur "pick-up" naturally depends on yur Sprocket size....u mite want to check on tat...

My advice to you will be to take your time and look around.

When I was trying to sell my FM plate 2 years ago at $2k, i have problem doing so. And considering couple of parts are new (CDi, fork, signal light, steering cone etc) together with new paint work. The only set-back was that my COE was expiring in a couple of months then. My milleage was low at 85000km for a close to 10 years bike. Engine was good as i have hit up to 220km/hr in msia. More often than not, i suspect people offering me a low price because they were thinking that i have to let go becoz of the expiring COE.

 

But it also let me realised one thing. GSX 400RR is not worth that much as I thought it is. Price tag of 2.5 - 3k only found in bikeshop. And my personal preference is to get a so-so bike around the range of 1.5k, do it up myself. At least i know what exactly have been done and what needs to be done. Nothing beats doing the bike up yourself and to your liking.

 

No offence to the seller. This is just my 2 cents worth to the buyer.

i know spocket plays a big part..

but what i wan to know is tat how come g4 pick up not rather powerful den the rest of the bike ?

what i know is g4 is a high reving bike.

to get the kick u need to high rev it to feel the raw power..

do not flame me .. i'm just asking to know more.

anyway, my pick up is not tat sense of 0 - 100km/h

my pick up is more of those gradually one..

like u ride s4 .. u feel the .. pick up ..

but when it comes to g4 .. u feel the sluggish..

 

lets not talk abt aftermarket parts and mods to make it fast ..

i got afew friends riding and saying the pick up is abit on the low side..

but overall is great bike.

so just wan to see more of ur views on the pick up.

Yup....u quite rite there....on the part where its more of a high rev bike....If am not mistaken....most SUZUKI bikes are mid range bikes.....In which you would see the power kick in at certain RPM and gear.....That's where the kick comes in....and where other bikes wld smell your smoke....However you mite want to get your carb retune on the lower revs.....Personally....i've tried wif an RVF...cant remember wat illegal racing pipe he was using...and i was using a Yoshimura(american flag) illegal.....Lost at initial start ...gear 1&2&3....however left him....once i came to 4th & 5th gear.....but it could also be the fact mine was a GSXr-LxSP....

 

Comparing to a S4 for eg.....its kinda unfair...coz S4 kind lighter bike. on the front end...It could also be the power to weight ratio distribution.that makes S4 or other bikes feels that their pick up is better.....coz i've ridden one b4...even the new Spec3....yesh you can feel the pick up...but haf not really tested the spec 3 when it comes to distance.....My bro is riding a Spec3...and is bragging abt his bike being fast and wif his micron is better pick up....Well....just couldnt wait for gt my hands on my on G4....to prove to him and old bike still has some worth in it....and let him smell my smoke....hahahhaha....

haha.. maybe u can kick his ass with ur gsxr ..

afterall sport bike is built for a reason..

s4 is a street bike .. can't compare with sport bike.

just like why cbr1000rr dun built with vtec..

since alot of s4 says their vtec kick ass..

vtec is just extra enhancement for the street bike to move alittle bit more faster..

anyway.. i'm not rubbing salt or pepper between either bike.

the most important aspect is that.. love ur ride !

The g4 sluggish acceleration is pretty much bcuz of d very restrictive flow end can... S I changed d end can wif d new 2" piping to d mid slip on section i immedietly feel big difference n accelerations.... then i had also a small shortie pipe to d side of d bike which is just below d footpeg when i went for sepang (of course tis hav to be rejetted)..tis will whop darn lots of power ... n for u guys info my bike is fully stock accept for d changeble pipings....

 

adding to that im planning to sell off my ride too... its a FK plate G4...bike is for weekend use only....sometimes even fortnight use only...spec r as below

 

Modle : Suzuki GSXR 400..59bhp model

Kapasiti : 398cc

Registered : Singapore year 1993

COE : 2012

Insurance : 3rd Party

Condition : Perfectly standard n tip top condition. NOTHING is not functioning. Perfect

i will be going for a trackday tomoro at sepang..i shall take picture n upload here for u guys to see..

 

i change engine oil every 1500-2000km... bcuz i truely seldom ride it will took me months to reach ther.

 

by d way my roadtax cost me SGD210 per year....any takers for tis ride...? or would u guys prefer to wait for d picture uploaded..?:smile:

If you're using a relatively cheap one, 2 mths is ok to gauge. I changed 3 bottles of Fuch @ $9 each. Oil filter @ $16.

it was done at kuala lumpur .. I did 2 set at d same time... one is the 2'piping with customized end can and this short pipe altogether rm280.. inside d shortie has silencer type of nettings being weld to d inner diameter..

They took how many days to do it for u? BTW do u ride with that in SG?

Did they tune the bike for u too?
