me all rite lar...only both hand kana loh....bike wise ler, SobSobSobSobSob....Sad man...Call planet motors to ask them tow to there...tomorrow going down to settle the bike....sian sia....

 

damn unlucky sia, kana bird sh*t on right hand @ bedok 85, then kana kerb after few meters away....some more right hand side too....sianz sia....

hi guys, really need some tips on checking a 2nd hand gsxr cos i viewing some this week. good to take it for a ride for... 10mins? really really need help or i'll just look for scratches! thanx

:Check the key for all access

:Check any losse wire around

:Check brake hoses (Front & Rear)

:See the whole body from the front and back whether the bike alignment

:Check handling

:Check the radiator and 2xfans

:Check water hoses

:Check the 3 meter gauge (RPM, Speed, Temp.)

:Headlight

:Fairing for crake

:Rear seat cable and tension

:CDI

:Battery

:Spark Plug Wire

For me, pay more attention to the engine cos the repairs is the most exp. Buy second hand things cannot see so much on small parts. Brake hoses should be small case. Wont cost that much even replace with steel ones. Check the engine condition, old bike have high chance of worn out pistons and rings giving out white smoke or a lose connecting rod. This repair can cost easily $1K. Remember to take a multimeter to check the charging too. As for suspension joekia already mention.

 

See if the water hoses r leaking. But i feel checking the radiator is more impt. See if there is brownish stuff, see the condition of the raditor water. Brownish stuff/cream in radiator means some gasket or seals are spoiled already and the 4T has leak into the cooling system. Can call off the deal for this case. Cos the repair for this alone is quite exp and this might cost other parts to be damaged too.

 

CDI part i am not very sure how to check, but if this is spoiled high chance the bike cant start. I just look out for any weird electronics symtoms. Anyone with experience might fill in more on this part.

buying a bike should never be dependant on the out look... NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY IT"S COVER... a bike may seem really shagged on the outside but the engine and all other things that affects the handling might be still in very good conditon...

p.p.s. engine leaks are not really big problems (replacement of gaskets are cheap) and a full overhaul will prob cost u only 2k(at most)....

p.p.p.s. stanchios of gsxr's forks cost 1k per side.... rear OEM suspension cost bout 400(only adjustable preload and non rebuildable).... Penske 1.5k(fully adjustable and fully rebuildable and comes wif a reservior)

p.p.p.p.s. i'm not very good at electrics... but i know that there's no way u can determine a CDI is gonna give way soon....
