I don't know. Will be doing some grounding with a Mega Raizin soon. If it still don't get better then will get it check again ba. Sometimes the voltmeter shows 12.8-13.0v lol. Wonder if the shop got cover warranty for battery, coz it's quite a reputable shop in SG.

Bro ki113r,

If you are sure that it's quite a reputable shop in SG (why you scared to share the name sia... :cheeky:) then bring the receipts (assuming previous owner pass to you la) to the shop. If don't have nevermind - still go and ask the shop what was done to the bike (it could be the previous owner preferred bike shop). Cannot be that they fixed the bike, but dunno what caused the current problem. o_O

Btw, your bike what version?

Just my $0.02 :angel:

Haha, I'm riding Spec 3 2005. It was done at Unique Kaki Bukit, I have the receipts. You think they will change a new battery for me? If fault is with the battery?

Hello from Spain.

Hi all, because I can not find any forum for the presentation, I present here. If this post is not in place, please put it in the right place.

My name is David and I'm from Southern Spain and some months I'm a happy owner of a honda cb 400 SuperFour NC39 which I'm very happy.

I came to this forum looking for information on my bike because my country did not sell and no information about it.

Here you have some photos of my bike:

Sorry for my bad English, I use google translator.

Hi all, I have a doubt with my CB400, I have understood that my bike is a hyper vtec spec one or that's what the previous owner told me, but seeing photos of other internet spec 1 vtec entered me doubts.

My bike is this:

http://i1339.photobucket.com/albums/o720/hondacb4001/DSC_0137_zps54b85bf5.jpg

And the pictures I see online as hyper vtec spec 1 is this:

http://yudakuzuma.files.wordpress.com/2012/06/1277887245_99961173_1-pictures-of-honda-super-4-hyper-vtec-spec1-1277887245.jpg

If you look at the fuel tank Honda decoration is different from my bike, then that makes me wonder, as the footrest is gray and my bike is black.

Can someone tell me? Hyper vtec is the bike and what year?

Thank you Best regards

Thanks, I'm very happy with my bike.

Before 7000 rpm, about 6700 rpm on.

What is not is the difference in the fuel tank decoration, that makes me doubt the year of my bike.

Hi Ninja74, is your key a normal key or with HISS? It should be a red light flashing with the word "HISS". If yes most probably is a Vtec Spec II

In the key leaves engraved "hyper vtec" and these are the photos of the speedometer:

Given that the decoration is different from hyper vtec 1999, you know that year is my bike? thanks

I have an issue with my engine oil leaking from the oil filter. I was told that is because the oil filter is loose. But everytime after I change a new filter it will start leaking again before I even hit 4 click. It leak when I ride but does not leak when I in stationary mode. Any advice?? Thanks!!

Hello, thanks for uploading the images. This is a Vtec Spec 1, I'm using the same model as you. But my vtec only opens at 7,000rpm @ 6 gear. Any idea why your opens so early?

Hello David,

apologise for late reply.

I guess that your bike is a hyper vtec spec 1.

This is because your Vtec activates @ 6700rpm

information is from this website --> http://world.honda.com/motorcycle-technology/vtec/p2.html

hyper vtec spec 1 --> 6700rpm

hyper vtec spec 2 --> 6300rpm

hyper vtec spec 3 --> 6750rpm

Checking what rpm your vtec activates at will be a more accurate method to determine its model.

Also, try to find out what year was the vehicle was first registered in its original home country, if possible

Years the bike was manufactured in:

hyper vtec spec 1 --> 1999

hyper vtec spec 2 --> 2002 - 2004

hyper vtec spec 3 --> 2007

information from this website --> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_CB400

Hi everyone, I'm new to owning/understanding a S4 and would like to enquire some information from the lao jiaos.

did post some of the questions in this forum but seems like no one is replying. i think the questions are pretty much unseen since there are so many pages in the thread.

please correct my words/ knowledge as i'm not certain about the exact terms used for bike parts.

1) i know that bike fairings are made up of abs usually. but what about the rest of them? fuel tank,frame,etc what composites are they up of? what is the melting point? how much % of chromium/other substance are in? (so that i know how much power i need to weld them)

2) Would like to ask if anyone uses ansi standard chains on their bike. what are the feedbacks from them? are they way below performance? etc,etc

3) can someone tell me the exact thickness of the stock brake disk? I cant tell how much thk i need by measuring the S4 i see around since none of them are brand new. Ive seen from 1.6~3.2mm

4) where can i find a guide book to know how much Newton is used to tighten the bolts/screws for different parts of the bike? (assuming that the parts are all stock)

5) has anyone tried to use different controllers to hitch on the cdi? if so, is there a table that i can refer to?

6) anyone tried using gas spring for your side stand?

7) anyone tried diy-ing a lift for your bike? if so where are the recommended supporting points?

Did the mech coat some oil on the oil filter before putting on the oil filter for you?

I had the same problem when tats the only time I never monitor the oil change process :(

HI fellow S4 bros,

my specs2 rpm and speedo occasionally jumps in the range of 2000-3000rpm differential, speedo jumps around 20-40 km/h. Sometimes it's extremely stable. Just wash cab not long ago so I don't think it's because of this. Any of you encounter this before? Any solution? Reminds me of my old 2 stroke bike...

Can you define jumps? Is it while idling?
