Heh well it really depends on what kind of ride you want. 2B bike choices are limited though. I've been hunting for a 2B bike myself, and here's the rundown:

2-stroke Sports bikes (which you seem inclined towards):

SP, NSR, kawa, rs125

Fuel consumptions are generally high, and so is the insurance. The handling and cornering is great though, but i've been generally adviced against sports bikes for a first bike, because of the fairings (once damaged, heartpain :p)

4-stroke sports bikes:

CBR150

This is the only one i know of - it's not a cheap bike, but it's fuel efficient. Insurance is still high though, and there's still the fairings

Scramblers

XR-125, WR200

I've got a friend who loved his xr125.. he says it's a fantastic bike which you'll enjoy for years to come, and i trust him - he has 4 bikes ranging from class 2B to 2 :p Scramblers don't come cheap though, and second hand's not always a good choice because they're more likely then not damaged previously (generalisation tho- i don't mean to insult anyone!) The WR200 is a torque-y bike, so many people don't advice it as a first bike!

2-stroke, cheap reliable bike

RXZ

haha.. that's the only way to describe it. It's cheap to purchase, cheap insurance, nice to ride and corner, and relatively cheap to maintain (let's not compare to the 4stroke bikes of course). It's noisy tho, and doesn't look like the most glamorous machine on earth, but it's a nice first bike. It comes in 5 and 6 gear models, so do watch out for that if u're trying to compare prices.

Cruisers

Phantom150/200

The phantoms are a fantastic breed of bikes - the 150 is cheap (2stroke) and requires low maintenance. The 200 is slightly more expensive (4stroke) but far cheaper and also requires low maintenance. Honda's generally a great machine maker (which explains why the CBR is also such a great bike). However, the phantom's not meant for speed and cornering. It's a long, heavy bike that's low to the ground. While this (and the posture) makes it great for smooth, easy riding, it won't give you the speed around bends. Because it's long, it also fishtails easily when e-braking, so do pay attention to that if u first start riding it.

Bajaj Pulsar 180/200 (4-stroke)

This is another fantastic bike. It's extremely fuel efficient (goes up to 50km/l) and gives a very smooth ride. The new series even has a signal cancelling function like cars! haha.. perks aside though, the biggest grumble for the pulsar is its top speed (or lack of it). It runs up to 90km/h fast enough, but going any faster takes time (and patience). But unless u're going up the NSHW, 90km/h is fine for singapore's roads. If u're getting this second hand, watch out for the engine sound - it's supposed to be smooth and creamy sounding, not rough. If it's rough, you're likely to have a problem.

So, here's most of the usual bikes out in the market! You'll notice that i've purposely left kups and scooters out - i'm not a fan of having a hole between your legs. But don't look down on the kups tho - they're fast, cheap, and pretty much the king of the roads here in singapore. :p

Heh, in summary (because that's what school does to us >.

Hope that helps! :)

200 bucks for a pair of bluetooth headsets.. worth it bo?

thanks for the wish!:) btw just wanna ask out of all the driving centres which one is the fastest to get licence or all of them is the same?

thanks for the info, will call them! wow amazing on how many people help me out, really apperciate it guys! thanks:thumb:

It's not the driving center, it's the rider, if you can pass every lesson with breeze then it wouldn't matter which driving center you go to. I'll say just pick whichever's closest to you.

haiya! if you wanna upgrade to a super 4, just get a bike you will enjoy for the 1st year. and might as well get a 2 stroke. when you upgrade later to super 4(a 4 stroke bike), you can never have a chance to taste how a 2 stroke bike feels. for me, i started out with a 4 stroke bike but i sold it off for a 2 stroke bike to enjoy the feel of it. my only regret is not buying a 2 stroke bike at first. cos the only reason i bought a 4 stroke bike is to save money on fuel and such but in the end, i don't enjoy my ride!! so just buy what you like! 1 year you won't waste much money la. just don't get a lemon bike, that's all.

my advise is to get a kup man. ever since i switched from sp to kup i nvr looked back! ...fuel efficient, low maintenance and got lots of accessories for u to doll it up!!.. I regreted spending so much money on repairs for my sp, piston jam la, this spoil tat spoil, then so unglam wif the white smoke shooting out of the exhaust! Top up petrol not enuf still must pour 2T! aiyo sibei troublesome!... Get a kup then ride all the way until u get ur class2 license and get a class2 bike!...Resists the urge to upgrade to class2A bike man, it'll be difficult but i think the hassle and money u save will be worth it!... but then again its ur choice, do think thru wad i suggested man! Cheers

Rideawayboy:

I used have a kup, then went over to Phantom200, and now just got myself a SP. Rather reverse cycle compared with the rest. Reason being is I have a car now and bike is for my leisure.. soo SP is for me to catch up with what I have lost on my earlier days.

All other bros have given solid advice, and like they said, it all boils down to what you want and need. Sports bike is damn cool on the road, but if you have anything to carry, bags, small luggages or even a bag of groceries, you will be dying for a rear box. I faced the same situation sometimes. Those the times I wish for my T200 with side givi box.

Maintenance wise.. you need to spend some compare to other bikes. You know well, its not a brand new bike and any 2nd hand SP will not give you the 'virgin' sound or feel. I tried a few before settling for one. Bring an expert friend around.. it helps a lot.

Happy bike-shopping...

Perhaps TS wanna consider a CBR150, 4 stroke single cylinder, DOHC...

Most of them are quite new, quite decent too.

bike is a machine without soul, rider would inject new life and character to this machine
