Hi, any owners of the above-mentioned car care to give some feedback about this car?

Thank you in advance. :cheeky:

Like all subaru cars, fuel economy is not it's strong point.

For a 1.5 l car with a 1.3 ton body, it will naturally feel sluggish, so do expect Vios, Swift to outgun you at the lights. What it lacks in acceleration, it more than make it up in handling, and safety (NCAP) standard.

The handling is quite unlike a typical jap car as the steering is more weighty so you will feel it is firmer at high speed.

The AWD and a reinforced rigid body makes it one of the safest car in its category.

On Simgapore road, you may not feel the engine being stressed but on the NSH, especially on the hilly stretch from Ipoh to Taipin, you will feel the engine is struggling for pace.

Personally, the 2 l engine will give the car more performance.

Don't expect much for the 1.5 to perform like its brother in the 2.0L body. ;) If you intend to have the 2.0L performance, just go for the 2.0L. No regrets, else buy something else if you've the budget. If you ask me, now is the worst time to buy a 1st hand car because of the high COE and etc.

Exiga GT is quite nice to look also :cheeky:

Hi all, thanx for the inputs. For info, I'm looking for thw 2009 - 2010 models. Quite like the exterior and interior. But I also understand the FC and laggy acceleration for this car. Considering between this and cerato forte.. still looking around... :)

Putting the price difference aside, the Impreza will win hands down in driving pleasure. However KIA's 5 years, unlimited mileage, warranty will really give you peace of mind, unlike Motor Image warranty on Subaru, with so many exclusion clauses.

are you driving a subaru?

I've more or less decided to get the car. Went for a test drive and I like the feel of it. True that the acceleration is kinda laggy. But its still better than my 6 years old kia.... haha... Most important thing is that I like it. :thumb:

Any lobang to change exhaust and rims?

There are plenty of aftermarket stuff for the Subaru, especially the Impreza, and WRX, all readily available locally.

If you want performance, even with all the money in the world, there is only that much you can improve within the LTA legal limits. So don't waste your money.

You want a fast car, start with a WRX. Unless you are only going for bling

If u got deep pocket for a change in e look u can consider some of this below

-->> Bodykits side skirt, diffuser, spoiler, carbon fibre bonnet

-->> Lowering Spring, Coilover, Big Brake Kit, Nice Big Rim 16-17inch with low profile tyre

-->> Handling eg: Structbar, swaybar, Camber bolt n camber setting etc....

-->> Meter/Gauge: Defi, Pro Sport, Auto Gauge etc...

-->> Pedals, Gear knob, Steering Wheel to WRX/Sti Seat or bucket seats

-->> HID headlites, Led Pole Light, Led Brake light, Led lighting Cabin etc...

-->> In Car Entertainment aka ICE LCD Headunit, Amp, Spk and woofer

-->> Aftermarket Airfilter/Air intake system wif CAI

-->> Aftermarket exhaust muffler + Extractor to bring out tht Boxer Note if crave to hav the sound..

-->> ECU Reflash or Piggback Tuned eg: Unichip, E Manage etc...

-->> Crank Pulley eg: Perrin, Alutec etc..

My advice would be stay stock but thts hard so those highlighted woud be gd IMO :)

I personally prefer this for my daily ride (highlighted in red)

However if u wan a fast ride then a WRX is still e better choice

afterall i still find ts is a better drive if compare to cerato forte....

Advantage of subaru:

Bigger group of ppl

More workshops that specialised

more 2nd hand aftermarket parts

more dealers supplying 1st hand different kind of aftermarket parts

stockist usually has really stock in sin

Becoz market is too competitive for this brand, price is much lower than the past.

rims and exos is just cheap stuff u can get it from mostly everywhere... likewise u can consider west spec listing or maybe even more by switching to a bigger rebuild engine with larger turbos, but afterall dun expect much from a impreza ts, its meant for daily drive purpose with a maybe just a little fun factor.

Gonna change my rims the moment I collect the car. Any good shop to recommend? Been to Stamford, Htyre and Leong Seng to check the rims out but not too sure which one is more reliable. Any advice? :)

The subaru stock rims are really solid from Japan, and you get peanuts from the trade in. Use up your stock tyres first, and by then you may want to change your brakes, and that would have an impact on the rim selection. Otherwise you could be spending unnecessarily.

Meanwhile you can lookout for a set of used WRX rims. WRX owners usually prefer bigger rims with more aggressive offset which flush with the body or/and their aftermarket brake calipers cannot clear the stock rims. So you can usually buy these rims cheaply, and these are really good rims.

2nd hand or 1st?

cheaper ones u can try swee heng building (opp geylang police station) got one "N tyres" shop, alot of ulu brand rims, can bargain.

leong seng those put outside one is 2nd hand rims, condition mostly should be ok or with some minor parking scratches. there're not the type who sell crack rims.

likewise if still cannot fit ur budget, can pay a visit to the infamous poh h3ng at amk... long waiting, reverse thumbs services, price now so-so not like last time that type of earn u $10 also will do that kind of business.

direct owner resale type, just go to subaru forum or rexfactor forum and see their buy/sell folder.

btw new subaru ts comes with wat tires now? potenza? the old ones are real solid tires where it comes with RE070... Classic~~
