if u using the bike for at least 6 yrs and wif ur budget, i suggest u to get new spark135 or wave, both commuting bikes wif super gd FC and least maintenance for ur concern. can put box too.

if u wan 2nd hand bike, can recommend u cbr150, gd FC and least maintenance, looks gd wif a box too.

wave would be good. since u're getting it for 6 years, get a first hand would be better. try to avoid sports bike style (cbr150) since insurance will be higher.

or u can try source for a low-mileage, 0-1year old bike still in good working cond.. it will save u lotsa cash.. with lesser insurance premium cost if u are under 21, less than 1year riding exp.. but if u want to use it long term, better to get a brand new bike..

i had been driving to tuas to work for sometime.....never ride there b4..(i never dare to..perhaps) but to tell u what to expect....... there are many big lorry there...driving like nobody business....

so the bike you choose shouldn't be too small that they cannot see u...

or have mobility to siam them...if they come close from behind....

riding to tuas will be very challenging...and have to be careful....

pick up should be good..... to overtake them at greenlight...so that they will be far far away behind from u... i can only tell u the safetly aspect at tuas.... and consider the bike specs....in addition to it....

most cubs dun have 5/ 6 gear.

2B bikes with 5 gears, which fits ur needs:

yamaha ybr 125

honda cs1 125

pulsar 200

the thing abt cubs is that our fuel tank is small (4litres).

if u get a pulsar200 (18litres) or ybr125 (13litres), i think u can go 2nd link frequently ald, since u work at tuas. :cheeky:

but down side is generally these 2 bikes cant match up with a stock cub in terms of speed and pick up, based on what i experienced otr la, im sure there are some lacer pulsar/ ybr out there. :cheeky:

also, both of these bikes have drum brakes only as compared to honda cs1 (disk brake).

hope this helps.
