wah serious problem ..... my guess is that maybe the CDI went haywire which explains the temperature's wrong judgement. And also that even the master key could not start the bike :giddy:

hey guys.. need some help with my 07 r1.

scenario is moving off at gear 1, clutch in, change to gear 2, then will release to half clutch and rev simultaneously. then i will hear a *thud* sound.

it seems that the problem is always at gear 2. gear 3,4,5 don't seem to have a problem.

is it clutch plate or chain or something else??

another thing is, when riding towards a hump. i will usually clutch in fully.

then it is my habit to rev a bit before going over the hump.

but even while clutching in fully.. i still can feel the bike jerk forward when i rev..

why is this so... pls advice...

thanks..

well in that case maybe your clutch plate has worn out already

change the clutch plate average need how many hours, or how many days??

u need to drain out ur engine oil.. then taking out the plates and replace new ones take about 10-15mins.. best to change when u want to have oil change together..

Today when i start my bike dead cold, i noticed it sounded like theres is lack of firing, put my palms on the mufflers exits to feel the compressions.. very weak.. Then engine warning light came on all the way.. no error codes.. switch off, on , crank her up.. everything was fine and back to normal.. What u guys think? Spark plugs? Mileage only 2500km.. new battery..

u had any pc installed on your bike? the reason why the engine warning light came on is that the oil filter is not the original one. Only original oil filters, not honda oil filters or those K&N, will not cause the warning light to come on.

hey guys.jus to check with your, anyone noes about the mode "co" and diag" whats that about? how to adjust? i accidently went into this mode when i was trying out the buttons and all. its some stacks settings rite?what kinda settings is good?

when ur bike has a problem it will display an error code on ur meter.. refer to service manual for error code..eg error code 15 is "open or short circuit of throttle position lead" u will then go to this self diag mode, select the diag code eg. " if error 15 go to diag, select D:01" to test/adjust or check for the specific part.. u will need the mechanic service manual to do all these checking/testing, abit complicating without instructions..

If your biting point is not too low, Your clutch is sticking/binding......... tell your mechanic about it and they should know what to do. (typically, soaking the plates with oil overnight will solve the problem)

Sound like some sensor issue if you can reset by power cycle. Check all your connectors to see if they are accidentally loosen when the battery is replaced.

My R1 battery flat liaoz, cannot start anymore. Its 2 years old so I think about time to get a new one. Any bike shop to recommend for good original battery and tow service?

Thanks, just called them to arrange for tow. Any particular battery brand to recommend?

what year is your R1?

Thanks for the info. Got it done at Planet Motor just now, $20 tow fee and $130 for the Yuasa battery. :)

Have a similar predicament. My R6 won't start too. Think the batt went flat. Won't crank up. Despite the bike being a weekend love affair, I have been a slacker of late. The last time I cranked it up to ride was more than 2 weeks ago.

Called HL and they told me that the cost of the battery w/o labour is scaringly in excess of $300. After some discount the price of the batt is about $250. Labour itself would be about $40-$50. I am looking at other options given the cost and luckily there is this recent post.

Was the tow arranged by Planet or did you get someone else to do the job? $130 for battery and labour? How long was the bike left at the workshop? Battery got warranty?

Think there were earlier posts commenting on batteries as well but can't really locate them.

Appreciate the advice.

Upz!!
