You still experiencing the same symptoms as earlier mentioned?

Hmmm....

When you turn the ignition, lights came on.....

Press the starter switch.....no cranking, engine not started (BUT heard a CLICK sound whenever the starter switch is pressed, somewhere under the seat)

Sometimes if lucky after awhile press the starter switch, it starts......

You sure its the Battery problem?

07-08 known for the TPS problem......

Lifespan of battery is subjective...1stly depends on how it was 1st commission.....then to the usage and maintenance carried out.

Anyway mine 2006, had starting problem.....then changed the starter solenoid relay. Problem solved.

ayio really ar bro?

hmm because i just check batt about 1 to 2 months ago, then now i feel like it takes longer to start my bike. as in i have to hold on the to starting button for awhile before it starts. any idea why bro? my Coil still ok and has charging.

if is your starter solenoid relay then how much did u change it for bro?

I've sent my bike for check up and found the cause of the problem.

It's actually the STARTER MOTOR.

Mechanic said it's one of R1's common problems.

Engine oil seeped into the Starter Motor due to oil seal has worn out.

Already replaced to a new starter motor.

Starting of bike is so easy and fast.

Problem solved.

Starter Motor cost $400+

2 x Rubber oil seal for the Motor Assembly cover ( $20 )

Not including labour charge.

It very troublesome to take it out from ur bike.

Total : $500 ( after discount ) including flushin

and replacing my coolant at the same time as they

need to drain ur coolant..

Any comments on the tires when wet? Using mich power 1, when the road is wet, I tend to feel a bit shaky, my back tire slip a few time on white paint arrows during cornering..or is it I pump too much air(37psi) or throttle too hard ?

Bro I think no matter what tire you use when cornering over white lines/arrows - you will definitely slip. Tires are made to run on asphalt, not paint :)

Class 3 = 02/07/2002

Class 2B = 24/04/2008

Class 2A = 22/12/2009

Class 2 = 10/02/2011

I really hate the white lines. Even balls of steel will drop when the rear slide.

I didn't experience such instances when riding 2b, maybe when upgrade already, bike got more torque. Sometimes when going on uneven bumpy road, esp near construction area, will also back slide loh..

Hi Folks - Just wanted to drop a note. I will be SG for a week starting Sat and would be interested in possibly picking up parts and gear for my 09 r1. I'm not sure whether the prices here are cheaper than Australia, therefore any feedback is greatly appreciated. Also any direction to particular stores would be great too.

I'm also thinking about bringing over my Arai Corsair V Carl Crutchlow helmet to sell. It's large and is in new condition, only worn 3 times and discovered it's too small for me. If there are any interest here, let me know. Before I forget, I also have a Dainese W-Frame 1 piece leathers for sale too (superb condition)

Hi All,

Recently my Red light keeps on coming up as my bike reaches about 118 degrees. Its some thing that never happened before I changed my coolant. I flushed my coolant with this MaximumICe or something. Now it seems its even worst off. Any ideas what might be the issue?
