Hi All,

Recently my Red light keeps on coming up as my bike reaches about 118 degrees. Its some thing that never happened before I changed my coolant. I flushed my coolant with this MaximumICe or something. Now it seems its even worst off. Any ideas what might be the issue?

mine happened once using Maxima Cooling Aide ...... went to mustafa 24hrs and bought one... remove fairings.. and top it up...

red light gone... coz normal riding my temperature nv went above 115 degrees before and red light comes up..... after topping up... it's back to normal...

what u might wanna do is top up first and flush the coolant the next time when u gonna have yr spark plugs changed (for 08") ....

or have it flushed immediately...

Hope it helps.....

er guys... need help again... my bike still stalls when i clutch in almost 50% of the time even after throttle body wash and balancing... still got any pointers to aid? '08 model btw..

The Situation:

Starting up of bike is perfect. That's why I don't suspect its the problems with the plugs. Idling is at 1200RPM upon start up, which i think is a quite healthy idling range.

The problem comes when the bike is coming to a stop i.e. red light around 10m away from the stop line, I normally will clutch in and kick down my gears to one (or neutral). And that's where the bike's RPM goes down to 0 and stalls.

At some point of time when i'm slightly luckier, the engine doesn't stalls but the RPM range would be at 600-800, which is quite low.. Cant even really hear the engine already. Like going to die any moment.

Given enough time, the RPM would then slowly rises back to the 1200RPM (which is the idling RPM upon start-up). Increased fuel injection from all zeros to C1-5 C2-10 C3-10 C4-5, but doesn't really helps. Wanted to increase idling but mechanic says already at a very good range already

Is this a common R1 problem or I'm the only one that face it? PLEASE HELP!!

Ride safe.. Never drink and ride...

Super common.... This the "Hei Ku" problem.... Asthma Attack fufu always says.....

Aft washing throttle body u still encounter this problem?? Which shop wash for u??

Check yr TPS being normal is 14 and full throttle is 99 at the bikes' setup menu....

If TPS faulty should cost abt $160 (quoted from Bikeworkz)

Btw... R1 can adjust idling?!? I got F by ah beng last time when I ask him to adjust idling for me .. Lol

er... i never actually adjust it before.. but mechs at HKL, EquipmentExtreme, Ah Koon and the place where i bought this machine from, bike production, ask me go set my idling to a higher range... but i refuse cause think will gargle more petrol, and i think that's not the cure for the problem. It just hides it away from me nia..

did my throttle body wash at HKL and then at EquipmentExtreme again in the span of less than 2 months.. the HKL guy didnt even balance my bike lor... the rubber tubing connector was damm tight when EE mech tried to plug it out and the balancing i had was haywired ttm... i did mention to EE mech before but he damm confident that my bike wldnt have tps prob... =/

BTW, can check myself de or need high lvl of skill? speaking bout bikes' setup menu, anyone got any tips, pointers, suggestions, etc to the cylinder settings and can someone explain to me what the diagnostic thingy(the other option other than CO) on the menu is bout?

THANKS A LOT PEEPS!!!

I topped up my coolant, apparantly some evaporated or something I was using Engine ICE. At first I thought there was some leaking but none is found. Monitoring the issue.

Does anyone know how to remove water from the patrol thank cause I think water went in. When I hit reserve the bike seems to have issue. I used a product for my previous WR200, but it was a carb bike. Not sure if that would work, otherwise I need to see if can manually pump out.

Is ur fan turning the correct direction, last time after accident repair, my R1 always run very hot till 115C, then realised one of the fan is installed to turn in the wrong direction. Now ok liaoz, at most 108C only.

As for coolant, I experienced before. One day I noticed reservoir at low level then another day close to full. Then I figure out, if top up when it's low, then it will be over filled. Sure enough, next day appeared close to full. Guess it expand and contracts.
