the reason why this site is quiet cause it's rumoured to be haunted and hence it's like a ghost city .... try not to come to this site after midnight else the person will have the worst nightmare of his life or some say, the curse ....

Btw I just got my 2013 R1 and I must say it's a huge diff from my super 4.

Congrates bro, where did u buy it n how much? Did they come with akrapovic exhaust?

Regarding the engine oil, in the beginning for new bike use mineral oil. After break in period use fully synthetic oil. I recommend motul. After all its a super bike.

Well thats the 1st stage

2nd stage will be u be unable to control your wrists and result in uncontrollable power while riding

3rd stage will be u are tempted to mod your bike with aftermarket accessories

4th stage, u will be tempted to ask for outings and outings

5th stage, u will be craving for more power from your bike

Final stage of the curse will be when u find the heat unbearable

What say u

I bought it at bike productions for 31k.I was told by them that if the sole distributor are still giving airs exhaust they will give it to me by asking me to go there directly to collect it.coz some dealers take it and they sell it and not give the customers.

Ic. I did call the main distributor n they quote me 31.5k with akra exhaust. So there's 1 year warranty?

guys, yeah the curse is still on. i still can't sleep as of now (~3am).

anyway, i'm worried about the heat seat of R1, which may affect my offspring. currently considering other bike model like cbr1000rr.

those who ride R1, any solution to prevent or minimise the heat seat effect?

Strap a pack of ice under your groin when you ride. Alot of us do that....

Yup akra exhaust will be given.the 1yr warranty comes with a clause that you have to svc the bike with them.

nice bro, how u feel about the heat seat? Is it bearable to u. I'm not sure but when u change to akra exhaust, pillion seat may get hotter coz the heat insulator piece will be removed. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Anyway, really glad u bought r1, it's a great bike n u made the correct choice.

well according to my understanding, all underseat exhaust bikes are like that in Singapore .... this was told to me by a friend riding ducati as well ... and reason is due to climate issues as well as all superbikes are designed to take away heat asap in order not to affect their perfromance and hence the feeling that u are getting right now which is normal ...

Yeah, u r right. Getting heat from super bike is normal, but getting extreme heat till ur ice pack melts is unbearable. :cheeky: So, I believe that is why most manufacturer is moving away the underseat exhaust design. I really like R1, but reviews and feedback from R1 riders complain the most is the unbearable heat seat. Good thing about R1 is its looks and sound, which is top notch to me. :thumb:

I'm also looking at cbr1000rr which it does not have significant heat seat issue compared to R1. At least the ice pack does not melt so quickly. hehe...

Haha ride r1 n wear shorts? Short journey mayb still ok. If long journey better wear protective gear. Do update us on the heat issue when u collect ur bike. As some bros here mentioned, bring some ice packs in case to minimise the heat. :cheeky:

If you think riding a R1 is hot, go and try a Duc, rsv, or MV. Even the bmw s1000 is a hot bike. It's something you will eventually get used to. So don't let heat affect your decision. If you wanna stay cool, buy a car.

Yes bro, u r right. Currently my top 2 choices r cbr1000rr n r1. Both of them r equally legendary bike to each own taste. It's really a close fight but cbr1000rr has lesser seat heat compared to r1. Correct me if i'm wrong. If not, i'll choose r1 n buy more ice packs.
