whats the differences between carburetor and fuel-injection engine?

any pros and cons between the two type of engine? (eg:- maintenance aspect, etc)

is it true that fuel-injection engine has a hard time to start if the bike is being parked for a period of time? (eg:- rider went to a long overseas holiday)

whereas a carburetor engine able to start by doing the push start method.

am i correct to say this?

.....:bouncefire: Reminder to all riders including myself:- Ride safely. Wear proper attire. Do not rush :bouncefire: .........

Both carbs and FI mixes atomized fuel with air and sends it into your engine for combustion.

Put very simply, the carb (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carburettor) is a more mechanical device which is controlled directly by your throttle...

... while FI (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuel_injection) uses a series of injectors and valve (or "butterflies") which may be wholly or partally controlled by the ECU. The injectors are electrically actuated.

In both cases, the fault usually lies with your battery going flat after a long period of disuse. Though... if your carb jets are worn, it could cause an overflow after awhile and flood the carb's float bowl.

One advantage the FI bike has is that if you tip the over on its side, you will not flood the carb and render it difficult to start.

U can also start an FI bike with a push starting. The only reason why you might find it more difficult to start FI bikes is that.... most FI bikes tend to be CL2A or above. Heavy bikes with high compression engines that make it a b!tch to push start. (Hint: Use 2nd or 3rd gear)

is it also true that fi bikes are smoother on the response, cuz i've recently tried a GSXR400, it seems that the engine brake is little or close to non, where as my carb s4 ver.s, seems to have a really heavy engine brake feeling and feels more torquey.

FI bikes can be smoother on the response because the ECU can be programmed to control the F/A ratio across the rev range. It also has a limited ability to compensate for parameters slightly out of range.

Throw in a PC3/5 and you get further adjustibility. This gives it the ability to optimize your ride for performance or comfort.

A carb's setting is static, and that's that. You set it up once, and it basically stays fixed. It's a compromise. You might get a good response at one part of the rev range, and not so good or bad response at another part.
