TS, you haven't share with us what bike are you riding. What is your current fuel efficiency and what is your target fuel efficiency?

folks...while we may be interested in saving $$ and spending less on petrol, please do NOT over inflate your tires...and do NOT coast to a stop on neutral...because you run the risk of losing traction...skidding...falling...and end up have to pay more for repairs.

if all else fails, get a ybr 125 (with magical fuel penguins) the bike pretty much runs on air. i am sure crazydj can prove to you how it works. haha.

February 2011 - March 2012 = Phantom TA 200

March 2012 - August 2013 = Suzuki Impulse 400

Pls note that you got to get the penguin upgrade and update to v1.3 for maximum fuel efficiency.

Hi!

I bought a bike last month but milage of this bike very poor. How can I improve average of my bike and how can I save money of petrol? If you have any suggestion, please share here. Thank you in advance!

Wat bike u riding?I can help u check see wat the actual problem, carb dirty will also cause high fuel consumption.Fuel jetting may be the cause of it too because u doesnt know wat did the ex owner do to the bike. After doing the cleaning of the carb u can use atomic power to save petrol as this is a kind of liquid to put it into ur fuel tank wit every top up of petrol. If u ve any furthur enquires pls feel free to call kelvin 90148138/64844842....cheers and ve a nice day.:thumb:

1) Over inflate tires

2) Use hard compound tires

3) Use RON92 petrol

4) Accelerate slowly and keep very low RPMs when riding

5) Turn off bike when stopping at traffic lights

6) Lose weight

7) Ask gf to take bus

8) remove box and all other unwanted add ons

9) use friction additives

10 ) Pay using credit cards that give extra discounts

Just some of the ways.

nice one! :D

1) dun overload yr bike with unnecessary items eg. stuff yr box (if u hv 1) with lotsa junk

2) check tyre pressure. overinflated/underinflated tyres cause engine stress which in turn uses up more fuel in order to propel yr bike forward

3) use the correct gear for the right speed ie gear 2 n u rev at 70-80kmh

4) learn hw to maintain speed when on the highways ie 70-80kmh thruout.in other words, cruising speed, n not speeding at 90kmh n above all the way till u reach ur destination

Do not trouble trouble unless trouble troubles you

make sure your chain is well maintained, the bearings and axles are all well greased, you dont have rusty parts etc. oh make sure your engine oil is good too motul is a good brand. Go change your accessories and engine oil at JB some stuff like engine oil are half priced. but 2T oil there is the same as local. try not to over rev and go easy on the acceleration. maybe you wanna check out your brakes they could be rubbing more than usual

Always ride safely and defensively.

Repair bike cheap and fast,

Repair body expensive and slow.

Oversized penguin wannabes aside, here's another tip we all missed out:

Know your engine power curve. Find that sweet spot on top gear for a balance of cruising speed and distance.

And yes, there are engines that get WORSE fc if you go too slow. 2-strokes for instance, are inefficient at low revs. So find that sweet spot.

Optimise the sprocket sizes to suit your riding style. If you run highways a lot, most bikes' stock sprockets result in too high RPMs when going at a decent pace. Lower the revs, max out the pace, more FC.

Yes, you lose some low end acceleration but are you climbing mountains all day? Some footwork (playing with gears) compensates for the reduced torque more than well enough.

If on an unaerodynamic riding posture, don't go more than 90kph. Air drag increases dramatically above that speed so you're just wasting lots more fuel to get there maybe 10% faster.

1) clutch plate (faulty, may cause excess revving and therefore increase petrol usage)

2) Inflate Tyres

actually also depends on the model of your bike too... example like KTM the petrol consumption is like drinking water, spark plug also like changing clothes...i used to own tat orange beast..lol

Not sure if its true. Philips EcoVision H4 But share with you guys. If it does safe petrol then its WOW.

http://www.powerbulbs.com/product_detail.asp?prod=144

Save energy & fuel

Over their lifetime, by consuming less energy, one pair of EcoVision lamps can save you up to 14 litres of fuel, which is equivalent to:

* £17.50 GBP / 22 Euros (@ £1.23 / €1,55 / litre)

* Over 124 miles / 200 km extra driving distance (@ 6 litres per 100 km)

Save money

EcoVision lamps last twice as long as standard lamps which means that you have to buy new lamps half as often. This saves you money on lamps: up to 15% on average.

That is interesting. Reducing power consumption indeed reduces drag induced by power generation (aka, "alternator load" in cager terms).

I would rather invest in such scientifically logical technology than XYZ super additive that for all you know, work on the placebo effect.

i tried this method many years , can try only, for me i think save alot.. at least not so heavy cos i using kr to work as courier and cover 200km evryday so the fuel is really killing me.. sucking my wallet dry everyday:sian:

*whenever you move off, play your pick up to 4.5k RPM and shift your gear fast. and very fast you will be in six gear. maintain yr 6 gear, don go over 7k RPM

*whenever u r slowing down, DONT blow to down your gear(2b rider always do that, i do it too) clutch in and drop your gear slowly..

*if i am working in town going circle and circle, my full tank($17) can last me from 8 to 6, but if my job that day is all far job , just by going to tuas south n back to bedok can suck my tank almost flat:sian:

anyway this is just my OWN method..no harm trying, cheers

this will works!! :)

one of my friend doing this.. because his valve and gear spoilt.. he used to be 200km / 10 litre.. now.. 3xx...

i dunno if it works for bikes, but for cars, dont pump full tank, becos the meter will bounce back and petrol flows back to the kiosk. thats how petrol companies earn and save money!
