my hammy... isn't she cute ...

one of my hammie got her eyes injured and now it is infected and swollen, using saline to clean the plas off her eyes, and using cat litter instead of woodshaven for her bedding so that her eyes dont get irrated easily.

 

anyone knows how to get her eye back in shape?

The other day I went to the pet shop, they showed me a bottle of medicine for the hammy. The medicine is to be dripped into her drinking water bottle. When she take the med, it should be able to heal. Maybe you want to go take a look at the pet shop or ask the shop asst for advice. But the medicine is out of stock. Say will come in next week. Shop name is Pet Concept at Blk 347 Ang Mo Kio ave 3, next to Fish Aqurium.

how come injured? got into fight??

 

one of my male hammie got swollen eye bcoz of fighting also then my bf just clean the wound with alcohol then let it slowly heal... now he's fine, but can see little scar on his eye...

Anybody got robo for adoption..i'm thinking of buying a pair of robo.i travelled all the way to simei from bukit batok but the the shop only sell 2 robo..

hmm.. that time my hammies also had babies at this age but dun have problems like yours..

 

yah.. i believe the next time round should b ok ba... just remember to provide fresh water, food and lots of tissue for the mummy to build her "nest"...

hi guys..

i have a hamster, not sure of the breed, some call it black bear or wad..

recently i notice that her teeth got very long as she had not been eating hard stuff ..

and 2 days ago i found out that one of her tooth broke off..

so now, one is long and one is juz nice..

 

my fren says that if the longer tooth gets longer she will die..

true?

yeap!! normally hamham will grind their teeth against the cage bars or by eating nuts. maybe you can buy something from the petshop for her to grind her teeth. it looks something like a rectangular block.

rear in those cage lor..

my hamster from last time fatty become now skinny liao..

think she only can eat fruits for now..

hmm... my hamburger also from fat become thin... never eat sunflower seeds...

 

yesterday my bf grabbed him n checked its teeth... its top teeth are super duper long.. curled inwards up to the top gum...

 

then we grabbed it, opened the mouth and my bf just use stainless steel wire cutter (cleaned with alcohol) and cut short the teeth...

 

right after we cut short the teeth, it starts to munch on sunflower seeds... now my hamburger is a happy hammie...

my another female hamster gave birth to 4 babies last fri.. i didn't even realise she's pregnant.But she better mom than my another female hamster..

Finally my 1st baby drawf hamster..i'm so happy!

Congrats!! I am so happy for you. Remember to give mummy lots of fresh water and food to eat so that she can build up her energy and proteins in her body. Remember dont touch anything in her cage or touch her babies or even the mummy herself. Just leave her alone. You will be thrill to see the baby grow up day by day. I took pics of the babies each day they grow til 15th day of their birth. Keep as momento for myself.

 

So now how many hammies you have in total?

anyone tired feeding them milk after giving birth? the last time my fatty gave birth to 5 little ones, she casted 2 aside.. i think she dun have enough milk to feed that remaining 2.

i tried using a yakult straw to feed her a few drops of HL milk, then shifted the 2 back.. after that she din seperate them already.

and yeah all manage to reach maturity and i gave some of them away.

just got to grab it tight and use a cotton bud to put into the mouth... let them bite the plastic part... best is if there's another person to help u.. one person cant do it and the hamster will struggle also...

Total i have 2 female , 1 male + 4 babies

actually the 3 hamster were found abandon in a box under the void deck. tat time the hamster ard 1 mths.so i decided to kept them as pet.It's a great joy to see them grow healthy n finally give birth.

Serious ahh... Many ppl have been dumping their pet hamsters at void deck. I have seen once, one hamster inside the cage with food and water dumped at void deck. I walked past and saw it. But my mum dont let me bring home, say duno got diease anot. But whole day I have been thinking of that abandoned hammy. After work, I went back to the spot where I saw the hammy, it is no longer there. I hope those cleaners dont throw the cage and the hammy inside the big rubbish dump. It is so sad.

i adopted one dumped hamster at voiddeck b4, that time she looks hungry and skinny with the bedding soiled..

So i buay tahan then bring she home..

A few mths later she pass aways cos of the tumor in her chest..
