well original_ss.. i do seperate the males n females and i pair them when i want more hammies to take care.. i started off with 2 hammies.. then friend's hammies gave birth.. i adopted another 2.. then he went overseas, so i adopted all his hammies (think abt 3 of them).. when i adopted his female, i think she's already pregnant.. after sometime i was trying to see why 2 whites can produce grey n white... so i mate them again.. still the same results.. haha..

 

last time i've already given off 1 batch of babies liao.. i somehow grew attached with the rest of the babies n can't bear to give them off.. coz they r too adorable...

 

that's how my hammie family grew..

My hammy only left this week for survival....... after it has gone to paradise, i would be lonely...... anyone to give out hammies?

mixing your hammies?

 

err.. u can try grabbing both hammies on each side of your hand... let them smell on another... usually when the more agressive one "hiss" or tries to attack, then u can forget abt putting them together...

 

alternatively.. when u r very free.. put them all in one tank and u observe them closely.. once startings to fight have to seperate immediately..

how come u can predict how long your hammie can survive?? mine still surviving but u can see her seems to b suffering everyday..

My hamster has left me today 20/4/06 @ 1900 hrs . :cry: :cry:

On the other hand.. when i start to mix them, they are alrite but after 5mins of kissing and smelling they started to fight.. guess i got to have 2 families.. instead of 1 huh.. haha

females r very dominant.. so definitely can't mix them toge unless they grew up together since birth... mine was seperated into 3 big tanks (all partitioned into half), 2 small tanks, 2 cages and 1 carrier.. heh heh...

Hey guys i got 2-3 winter whites for adoption.. the 5 babies is growing i don't think they can fit into my cage in future.The babies ard 4-5 weeks now.

been there, had it... time will heal but with so many hammies with me all the while, suddenyl i feel lost. This last hammies outlive its expected life span for many periods. Its very heart aching especially when u see them sufffering yet there is no cure and practically they are just waiting for death...... Its a life and just waiting to die.......slowly.....
