was looking around the forums & realised that this is the only thread dedicated to the majestic ST11...

so its not a naked bike...

neither is it a sports bike...

not a cruiser either...

definitely not a scooter...

its a tourer!

and we got no tourer section in here....

archenemy,

for the past decade & now still, motorbike magazines from all over the world categorised our ST1100 as 'Sports Tourer'.

i dont find any thread anywhere else in this forum that says "ST11"

i have heard geat things about you simon...

how you do a check on all the bikes going touring with you before setting off...and how you really maintain the 120kmh slowest rider's speed...which is yourself...

thats what i call responsible riding :thumb:

i never like to speed....and i definitely dont like squeezing...be it a big bike or small bike...

Drive shaft oil change is recommended at 24,000miles (38,400km) or every three years, which ever comes first (this is as recommended in Haynes service manual) I abit kiasu and thought it is kind of long so I change it on alternate engine oil change. This is how I do it:

1. Put bike on main stand

2. drain off shaft oil after unscrew drain plug and remove filler cap.

3. check condition of drain bolt sealing washer. replace if needed.

4. reinstall drain plug and up with 150ml of shaft oil or fill to the brim.

5. reinstall the filler cap.

That's all.

[momo],

I found it not neccessary. few cm raised doesnt help much in long hours ride, my back tailbone suffer, handle bar dont feel that reliablily solid strong as it was.

base on my 'shortie height' :D, stock seat & windshield, I got more wind pressure pushing on my visor & my arm got wet easier riding in the rain(at speed of 100km/h). parking shift-turns also a plm as the weight distrubution I felt it's unpropotionate.

anyway it's my opinion about it, I'll shall remove it by this month.

bro Simon, thanks for the info..

but the riding posture abit uncomfortable la..

or u wana lend me urs to try it out for a week? :cheeky:

If price is not an issue for you, go to Boon Siew, they still got them.
