recently been testing out the FC for my ST.

70% spent on expressway, the other 30% in carpark warmup and city riding.

Managed to get around 17km/l.. *all in sgp roads

Is this considered high?

Also, after carb tuning by motodiam, seems like the rpm is slightly higher when crusing -> 3.1k rpm for 100kmh (before was 3k rpm) with headlight on.

Could this be a contributing factor?

I think 17km/l is pretty normal...mine is about 18km+/l...I use Shell 95 and the average I get is quite constant...I guess it's normal if you fall between the range of 15km/l - 20km/l....Seniors, pls correct me if I'm wrong :cheeky:

hi guys

recently saw from boonsiew webby tt STX only 24k

any ppl just bought it new???

how much is the installments per mth need to pay ah??

and also, who mush money is required to `start off` ??

eg insure and road tax and whatever tax?

age is 24 btw..

thx for all the helps

I happen to visit Looi's Motor today.

Saw a new ABS model White STX in the showroom.

Sales Manager Lim says that it is a Boon Siew Bike, not parallel import.

He says the price will be ~ 27 K OTR, I mentioned to him about the 24K price on the website and he believes that it refers to the machine price.

However, the Deuville 700 is going at 18K otr which I previously ask from boon Siew Opp. KK is 21K OTR, I believe the Deuville from Loois is a parallel import model.

I hope the info is useful.

i've confirmed with looi's ah lee that their deauville 700 is boon siew bike but no ABS model, that's why cheaper. from BP, also 21k+ OTR but is ABS model

may all be well and happy

Tts quite assuring, but is my tacho reading of 3.1k rpm at the speed of 100kmh normal?? this is regardless of switching on the headlight or pilot light..

my rpm is also somewhere ard there @ 100kph. just slightly after the 3k marking. should be normal.

FC i'm gettin ard 370-400km for 20litres average. city n highway is 50-50. but my reserve light stays on after ard 20litres. measured many times still the same. maybe my fuel float a bit kiasu so reserve lights up a lot earlier

yes, its pretty normal. cuz not everyone have the same way of riding.

there was this member, he complain his new ST1100 only got 12km/ltr, it was very unlikely for a brand new bike lke his. but after asking then realise how his consumption was so high cuz he rides his bike on the road same like in circuit. :D

I guess it's normal if you fall between the range of 15km/l - 20km/l....Seniors, pls correct me if I'm wrong :cheeky:

FunkyChicken,

most shop that deal with big bike shouldnt have plm with ST1100, have some faith & trust with them, u should be fine. :)

replacing the cam cover gasket urself wont bring u big hazzle or mess, all u need is to apply is the proper technic to seat-in the gasket & washers to the block by using the x-tightening method. each of the 4 retaining bolt require only 10NM to tighten pressure, which means only a slight tap upon tightening.

things u need r;

1 x new cam cover gasket(for 1 side)

4 x new plastic washer.

& some amount of 'high temp sealant'.

** make sure engine is well-cooled.**

Did it.Done it.No problem.Leak free.:thumb: :thumb: If you think its a hassle...just throw another $20-$30 let shop settle for you. Think its around $40-50 to change cam cover gasket at shop..

FunkyChicken,

very high chance could be one of the diaphragm torn/cracked inside the two component(duno what name) mounted underneath the carburettor, its purpose is to regulate the EVAP system to minimise emission, damage due to ageing or fair wear & tear.

the back fire plm can be eliminated permanently by using a small sheet softer metal measuring 2x3cm to block the 4 EVAP system outlet metal tubbing from the side of each engine block cyclinder(just above exhaust joint). thereafter it will work exactly like the Pan-Euro model except with richer A/F setting & larger main jets... better top lah.. :D
