Thanks SNapEI.

Hi everyone,i just bought a 1993 ST11..I just installed a volt meter and the reading is 16.4volt while cruising at 100km/h.Does the volt meter gave a correct reading or something wrong with my rectifier or alternator?

Thanks SNapEI.

Likely to be the volt meter needing some adjustment.

Use a multimeter over the batteries to confirm.

28K OTR...exclude IU

Where did you get the bike from?

It takes some momentum to get the bike on center stand.

You can practice.

Thanks.

Hi SNapEI,I check with multimeter it the same reading with the volt meter..

I'm worried that the battery will be overcharged.

Any idea how can i solve this problem??

If that's the case, your rectifier/voltage regulator is going up the lorry liao.

The volts should go up to 13.8-14.5 volts and then stay there. Much more, and it will over charge the battery. Much less, and the battery will never charge up

Will be good to change asap. Not so much your battery damage but rather the over voltage can cause your bike to keep fusing, or worst, burn other electronics, i.e your speedometer.

Go to a reliable mechanic to confirm.

Thanks again for your advised bro SNapEI..So I need to change the rectifier or battery?

No use changing battery. If it is overcharging, its the rectifier/voltage regulator that needs replacement. After replacing that then you check if your battery has been damaged by the overcharging.

Hi SnapEI,i managed to changed rectifier before my 3NCR to Thailand..but my wiring and connectors from alternator to rectifier badly burn when I otw to KL and my volt meter still indicate 16.4volt.Do you know any shop that can solve this problem.

You can go to Planet Motors, Rosli or Bikeworkz for diagnosis and repair.

They have a reputation of having good integrity and a certain standard of knowledge, skill and workmanship for break fix situations.

Ok thanks..when bikewerkz and was told that my wiring need to be replaced. But agent don't bring in anymore for US version ST11.Any idea where can I purchase the wiring set for my ST??Thanks again in advanced.

If you can, search for the part number, then go to eversuccess or FJT to ask. No part number also can go and try, see if they understand your requirements.

Else, go to another bike shop, i.e, Planet or Rosli.

Worst come to worst, search online, buy and ship over.
