All sports bikes will look weird with box. It depends what your priorities are,and how affected you are by other people's comments.

I used to have a box on my CBR, and use it to haul things even when going to track (of course the box remain in the pits...). Looks fugly, but who the hell cares.

I'd say screw people's comments and do what you want.

Past: KDX200, LC4 400, LC4 620, GSXR750WR

Present: CBR900RRY, Gas Gas EC250, XR250L, XR250RV, XR400 (motard-ed), NX650 Dominator

people who bother about outlook will be bothered by people saying them having a box on the bike.

put it simply, if u want a box on ur sportsbike, be prepared that it WILL look ugly.

form vs function. u decide.

perhaps u can come to a compromise n get a sports tourer instead of a sportsbike..

the VFR looks pretty neat with side panniers.

the day when u decided to get a sportbike, thats the day u have to carry yr raincoat and helmet with u....thats my view

It could be a maybe. Coz last time when I rode gsxr 400, there is ample space for raincoat in the compartment. And helmet (cheap one) juz lock with the bike.

Now with my GSR, no ample space. So in the end carry bag (inside raincoat) + helmet bag (coz now helmet more power one) everywhere I go.

Maybe TS wanna put up a sports rack with small box, like the size of a small Pelican box. Not so "ugly". hehe

those expensive metal box that look like mafia should be good on sport bike...

but after all it will still be ugly because u r not riding vfr, blackbird or even busa...

(dont take it too personally, just a general comment)

There is someone out there for me

I know there is someone out there

I know she is waiting so patiently yeah

Can you tell me her name?

(Somebody tell me her name)

This life-long search is gonna drive me insane

How does she laugh?

How does she cry?

What's the color of her eyes?

Does she even realize I'm here?

Where is she? Where is she? Where is she?

Where is this beautiful girl?Who is she? Who is she?

Who is gonna complete my world?

did my fair bit on research on this cos i wanted to ride a sportsbike, but needed storage space as well..

there are some racks which makes use of the pillion seat area to mount a box.. but cannot pillion anymore, that would defeat the purpose of me having a bike.

otherwise you can consider customising a rack for putting sidebox.. but the sidebox not able to put ff helmet, i got to carry 2 ff helmet around? no way.. and the customised rack wont come cheap.. so i scrapped this idea as well.

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

This what I call a head turner!

Seriously with a box it does save lots of hassle and trouble. :cheeky:

Another form of alternative would be using cargo net with plastic bag to secure and water proofing your cargo.

bike is a machine without soul, rider would inject new life and character to this machine

Well, I saw a yellow CBR600 with the whole set of boxes. (1 top box and 2 side boxes).

Doesn't look too bad.

Then again, wont a sports tourer solve the issue?

Sporty enough, does not look out of place with boxes.

Soft saddlebags dont really solve the problem. Not safe/secure enough as in you cant just leave it hanging on the bike while you go away without worrying some jokers will splice it open. And waterproofing usually a problem.
