Yes, it happens all the time but mostly for normal jap/korea cars.

The reason as we all know is becos the Sales person get a commission for securing a loan.

When my Dad bot his Altis, he down $65k and borrowed $7k for 1 yr as that was the min. requirement. The Offer price was only with a loan taken. For full cash payment , no special price.....damn bloody stupid rule.

Anyway, if that is the case, just take a very small loan over a very short period. The difference may work out to be negligable or "cheaper".

that happened for me and for my friend too, for many car "stealerships" the only way they make money is off your loan interest. No loan, wanna pay in full? Can...pay higher price lor :giddy:

$10k for a $100+k RX8 is really too little for downpayment...

Why not consider the Suzuki Swift Sports? Compact, fast and nifty for a ideal price too...

Problem is if you want to take a loan, you need to show your income tax etc.. which is kinda sensitive coz being self-employed... you know what most selfemployed people do when declaring income tax.. so it would be hard to get a loan

you intend to drive 1 to 1.5 yrs and yet you take such a big loan, guaranteed to pay until your pants drop.....

My car 2.5yrs , I already lost $50k interms of dep + value.

Better make sure you are covered well and can afford.

Not to mention the maintenance cost of driving, servicing and parking

The amount of tax you pay is calculated based on the amount you earn.. the more you earn, the more you are taxed..

So since Throttle pays a lot a lot of tax, in the same sense, he earns a lot a lot.. he's my idol

Middle income people like me are the worst hit.

tax pay more than others (relatively) but privilege less than others.

eg. HDB not allowed to buy....etc....

the trick is to earn a lot and pay little taxes........sigh...I still dont know the trick yet. maybe I should go cha kway teow.

I idolise both him and you because the 2 of you have a clear aim and are working hard towards it... for me... I'm still looking for somewhere to start with..

P.S: Think dec really cannot go offshore with the weather and a lot of commitments coming up.. let's go maybe in Jan or Feb?

huh $10k only and you want to buy RX8?? dont squeeze yourself too hard brother.

You wanna loan $80k at current rates?  even over 9 or 8 years, that is really asking for it.

I recommend you buy a Gen2.

GEN2? Eee! beat me to death also won't go near it... bloody thing falls apart after a year. Better off buying a korean or even a chinese made car. If it's anything the malaysians have learnt beside using singapore as a whipping boy when they feel like it, it's NOT how to make cars. Even the malaysians won't buy their own shite....

Ge see Kia or Chery.. you'd be better off. Leave the crap across the causeway where it belongs IMHO

See anyone who would use a maybank credit card out there? Thats my point... damn low class... Why would you want to drive a "potong" car?

Posted

Dont say low class lah, fren....

Anyway money cannot buy class nor style, money can only buy you worldly things.

Real class or style is developed not bought.

Real class or style depends on the driver not the car. Give an ah beng a top class ride, he will still be an ah beng. Give a gentleman an old daihatsu, he will still be a gentleman.
