yamaha has been producing high pressure direct injection 2 strokes power boat engines for quite some time. I wonder why they dun want to apply this tech to a new range of 2 stroke bikes? I know they have stopped producing 2 strokes due to the company's policy on conserving the environment. But with the new HPDI tech, there is loads of potential to be unleashed!

you get all the usual pros from a 2 stroke and furthermore, with HPDI, fuel consumptions is improved by 50%, pollutants is reduced by more than 75% and power is increased further by 10%. has any manufactures produced HPDI 2 stroke bikes yet?

eagerly awaiting this tech to arrive! i'll definitely be the first one to bite! :thumb:

u mean their boat engines? mmm maybe that was due to lack of lubrication in the upper cylinder? before yamaha implemented the design of the porous lower piston ring?

the figures are comparing the old tech 2 stroke with the new HPDI tech. i would say drawback is more components and increased weight/size of the engine. This is again comparing with the old 2 stroke.
