For people who are looking for reviews on the new Honda VFR1200F Sports Tourer, here is a good place with a collection of reviews on the bike:

I put this as a separate thread to make it easier to search by potential buyers.

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

My current Fazer FZ1 is a great bike for daily commuting and sports touring.

My itchy heart and backside just needs a little bit more torque at the lower and mid rpms. I need to work doubly hard just to outrun a 90's Honda Hornet900, can you believe it?:sian:

I am guessing the VFR1200 has similar range as the Fazer FZ1.

For daily commuting in SG, it is sufficient but on a slightly short side (200-250km between refuels).

Maybe the designers have approached from the angle of touring point of view.

Typical touring will see the rider needing to get off the bike every one hour or max two hour. So the tank range of 250 km maybe seen enough. Anything slightly more serves no purpose as the rider still need to get off--unless you really beef up to the mammoth 30 litre or more size (eg: ST1300 Pan European) where you can skip one refuel compared to others :)

I think that if the designers really designed the bike with touring in mind, they would have at least maintained the fuel capacity. I would have liked a 25+ litre tank.

When you're touring, you can't assume that there'll always be a petrol kiosk nearby. You have to take into the account the possibility of getting lost, and having to travel more than the typical 200-250km from the last fuel stop.
