So low? Get it checked. I normally get about 20-21km/l if I stay under 4k rpm. That's city riding. If trunk road constant 80 - 100-120km/h around. rpm around 3.5k then I can get 24-25km/h. Once rpm past 5k. All the holes open at it drops to 14-17km/h.

so similiar to the 800gs... :thumb:

Bro, how much n where u change the air filter? btw, how abt the FC? better than before?

$110. ask any bike shop to quote cos they take from the same supplier. if u cant get any lower, i'll pm u the shop. price excludes installation. DIY with help from a friend.

power is better, hence FC should be better though it's about the same as before. well, as u know, it depends on ur riding style and type of road and speed blah blah...

Ahh...no wonder. It's 16.5L then open reserve la not 17L. Reserve is 3.5L. Heee.

Here's a guide I came up with. We have 6 fuel meters right? Here's what is it from my calculations. So far it seems right.

1st meter - 4L

2nd meter - 3L = 7L

3rd meter - 3L = 10L = half tank.

4th meter - 3L = 13L

5th meter - 3.5L = 16.5L

6th meter - 3.5L = 20L

If you're down to your last meter it doesn't mean reserve yet. Once it blinks and switches to 'F' meter then it's reserve.

Hope it serves as a good guide.

okie... so far i've monitored

1st bar - 100~110 km

2nd bar onwards 50 km each + or -

so about 350km + or - before reserve... remember on the tirp, we pumped almost same amount at each stop, ofcuz pcr pumped the least amount as he never go high rev..

strangely...i rode PCR TDM before during babysitting it...

his bike....amazingly able to go above 400km before reserves.:thumb:

one thing to take note...he is not using sidecases, and so less weight and so i believe this would have given the very good consumption...

at that time when i was riding it,his bike is purely stock with shorter windscreen except for mainstand.no topbox even....

I found if 1st bar down is 100km, You'd get about 25km/L.

Cos pcr never ride fast what, not like us throttle happy ppl :D

Don't forget his bike is new. Ours haven't do valve clearance etc. I believe once you do it, it'll improve again. I believe the KNN filter and airbox mod will eat the FC a bit. NOt much but still will have some.

I'll be doing valve clearance soon. Anyone wants to do also? Then I can get Rosli to standby parts. Can monitor FC again after that. I need to do a full servicing. Spark Plug, new filters, valve, chain pensioner and all. Money fly. Money fly. Sigh.

Oh and I found my right farring is broken. -.-

first bar seems ok.. but the next next gaps are 60km range.. i get about 50km..

and my reserve lights up early if i put on side stand, as bike is taller with bigger front tyre, more lean angle..

wah liao! suddenly it's pcr here, pcr there, and pcr never rev... next time u see me dont blink eyes hor. otherwise smell my exhaust.

yah, i'm much lighter than most and carry less trash in my box...my 1st bar gone right after 100km. initially after change of air filter, it registered 120km before the bar disappears. i thought it was because my bike "peng-san" at the Belum resort.

anyway, FC hovers 22-23km/l. surprising it was 24+km/l for the national day ride, and halo, i did speed, but i dont rev at low gear when doing the twisties...not like someone going down the hill at first gear all the way!

even the FC did not improve significantly, the greatest gain is the reduction of knocking at higher gear& low speed, especially going over humps.

maybe i should use the stock screen for local rides and see if FC improves...

aiyoh, u slept with the busa on your right mah...busa a piece of solid steel man!

the right fairing of tdm is hollow...my IU resides there...

hahaha. So quiet so must make some noise mah. Eh see your trip report ley. You did one right?

But ok la. We shouldn't be complaining much. The TDM gets so much better FC than other bikes in the class 2 category. Imagine no TDM. We'll be talking about 14-16km/h average FC.

you're getting there bro....just wait until your wife pregnant, then you see you got gain wait or not....

you don't need the pc3 if your exhaust is not aftermarket full system...usually even if just a slip on,pc3 is not really neccesary...unless you really die die dunno what to do with the $550 in your pocket....o_O

It was so comfortable, my bike HAD to hug it with the cool ground on a hot night. The Busa was for extra comfort.

When I give it to them I give it to them HARD baby. hahaha. But we all suspect foul play la. I think a 3some was involved otherwise they couldn't have taken the Goldwing down.

No worries man. Understandable. Women will never understand us bikers. Unless they also play bike one ;)
