Wah, really so good?

Now thinking of changing technoflex.. everything.. springs and shock on my vara and cb13.

more so on the cb13 cos the suspension during high speed riding is quite bad... jumping around a lot. Hardly any compression damping. Will changing to technoflex or Wilber shock absorber really help?

What do you think of the cb13's ride handling on the highway? Feels quite lousy compared to your TDM on the straights.

Mass order items from M-technik will be cheaper?

Its really good. No kidding. maybe ts because TDM is front heavy and the original springs r too soft so can feel the major differences.

Din get to try ur cb13 on the bends so can't comment. The power is there. But the riding posture is too uncomfortable for me.

Discount? Mus ask Chan. I eyeing on the rear shock too

I say sell the cb and keep the vara

I remember ppl on the carpe forum mentioned changing the forkoil to a thicker type will stiffen up the forks considerable... That might be a cheaper option if its giving you problems now....

Boon, have you fixed the squeaking sound on the suspensions yet? Was it solved when you change the springs?

Changing the fork oil will not give you much difference.

Squeaking comes from rear shock, still can't find the "spot" to spray. Anyone here knows where to spray? The linkages..

Hi all,

Been following this thread for quite some time and was really impressed with the bike. After reading through about the bike's consumption and all, i believe this bike is good enough for commuting and touring.

How many TDMs are out there by the way.

Some questions to ask though..

1) Any insight news from Yamaha whether they producing new model to this bike or something close to this bike?

2) First hand still in the market right?

3) Any aftermarket tank available? 40 L+++?

barracuda, AJ.. and yappiez >>> awesome ride you have there...

Thanks for your compliments on my bike although it was mentioned last.

IT IS AT LEAST MORE AWESOME THAN BOON's. MUAHHAHAAA.....:sweat: :cheeky:

There was speculation of a 1L version which is more suited for off-road but may not be true after all....

First hand is readily available at HL or bigger bike shops.

After-market tank, I have not heard of. Not even at the Carpe forum. There's other forums to find out but you will need to understand Dutch or Italian.

Your vara signature has an uncanny resemblence to my TDM pic posted earlier :smile:

Boon, see? never post your bike pic....thats why people never mention about you hahaha. Show us a garang pic of your TDM leh

Back to your point....

Not too sure.. my guess is ard 50 in all.

Some questions to ask though..

1) Any insight news from Yamaha whether they producing new model to this bike or something close to this bike?

Not at the moment. TDM has a trend of revamping its model every 5 years or more. The TDM900 has been around since 2002. Expect something new from 2007 onwards.

2) First hand still in the market right?

Just give HL (agent) a call to confirm.

3) Any aftermarket tank available? 40 L+++?

Nope, not very necessary since fuel economy is there :sweat: I would personally go for this http://www.tourtank.com/ if I have to increase fuel carrying capacity.

Something new in 2007. Maybe if the time is right i might just wait for it.

Thinking of upgrading. Trying to find a bike suitable for singapore road use and touring. TDM came to my mind.

for Q1 & Q2 think u can find out more from HL as for the tank...so far never heard anything but given TDM900's fc don't really need a larger tank. riding in SG i can clock ^420km b4 hitting res & at high speed riding NSH 140~200km/h was able to clock ^360 b4 res :lovestruck:
