Ya, for parallel twin engines, its a bit rough at low rev, but wait til u go above 3,000 rpm, the engine is as smooth as bean curd. :cheeky:

If i'm not wrong, the bike that rattlesnake bought is also the 05 model. Only diff between the 05 and 06 models is the jio stickers i think. Feel like buying the stickers and putting it on my bike..:cheer:

Asap, the difference is the engine layout. Parallel twins are more compact in design compared to v-twins. Its about half the width of an inline 4 without the rear protruding cylinder like v-twins. Its not as vibey as a v-twin and neither is it as smooth as an inline 4. So its kinda in-between if you get what I mean. Personally, its 75% as smooth as an inline 4 at cruising rpms. Parallel twins can sound like v-twins (aka ducati style) when aftermarket exhausts are fitted. Original cans are quite tame. For reviews, just read the rest of the thread. Alot has been discussed till death. What do you need to know exactly? We'll be glad to answer specific questions.

rattlesnake & Asap, 05,06 models are essentially the same only with paintjob/sticker differences. They have an improvement over the 04 models which is the ABS option. Without the ABS, its the same as the 04 model. Immobliser (coded key) comes standard from 04 onwards.

rattlesnake, show us your TDM man! What colour did you get? Accessories? Planning to mount side panniers? I'm selling my H&B side pannier rack. PM me if keen.

AJ, nice bumping into you today on the road. Hahaha, cannot miss your TDM with the stainless steel engine guards. :thumb:

1. Bought from Dili Trading.

2. $18300 OTR.(depend on ur age)

3. Mine is '05 model but was released late last year.

4. Loois is having '04 model if I'm not wrong. Offering @ 17k. If u don't mind the colour... go for it.

U may try AS Poon. Located same row as Dili. Not bad, price the same but interest lower @ 4% . Look for Jonathan. But do not go to Chagi rd branch. The salesman are sucks! not interested in selling this motorcycle quote me $19.5k i rather get fazer1.

Hope this help.

Cool! Bumped into another TDM900 rider this morning along PIE after Paya Lebar. I only suspect it's silver Tech 2005 and it's plate starts with FBA.

Whoever it is, HELLO!

silverwinger, so your previous owner retained his plate huh? What the actual colour of your TDM? update the list accordingly ok?

Been bumping to riders recently and chatting at traffic lights. Fri, a vara1k rider was just asking me about my TDM fuel consumption  he was kinda shocked when I told him 24km/l :giddy: If you are the vara1k rider, nice meeting you

If you have not been reading bike mags recently, go check out T.W.O april 2006 issue. Got a Aprilia Tuono R, Vara 1k EFI & TDM900 comparo. The TDM got 5 stars for value :cheer: and an overall 4 stars. Performance of the Tuono R is undisputed :thumb: Both Vara and TDM no fight man o_O surprisingly, the EFI vara can get good mileage from its stock tank of 25L. Goes further than the TDM's 20L. Din do exact km/L calculation but it sure is good compared to the carburetted Varas.

Updated Silverwinger's bike color. Went to Planet Motors to change engine oil and Ah Chong mentioned that he just changed another TDM850's oil recently. i wonder who?

Anyway, I popped by the Yamaha Service Centre and bumped into another TDM900, Blue Stone. I did not meet the rider though, as I was talking to Kevin when he rode off.

Silverwinger, could not be since the plate was not FBA unless you have two plates?!!?!

Haha, now I keep bumping into TDMs when it's been 3 months on the road where I did not bump into TDMs. Strange circumstance.

Anyway, it always feels great to see another TDM on the road.:cheer:

You have travelled to places others have not ventured....You read books that others have never heard of....You see humour in unusual places. And you've always gone your own way. Why, then, should you ride a bike that's like all the rest?
